Ralph as we later find out his name, is the athletic, level-headed, leader of the boys on the island. He is the emotional leader of the group, and he has a major influence on all of the other characters. Ralph is used as a sort of reminder of the old world. He reminds the boys that there are laws and rules and everyone must abide for survival. When the boys realize that they are not at home anymore and they being to rely on their natural instincts they lose the society that man-kind has created. Ralph is trying hard to keep the boys together because he knows if they are not the chances of being rescued become lesser.

  The first four of those five words are very familiar to readers of Ralph’s writing. A lot of people, like me, don’t know how to make words like these.
I hope you have read my essay. It’s a good resource if you need help with your interpretation of the character analysis. I’ve read at least five books that come with this essay about my characters and I have my own opinions of people who read the book and want to be reminded that not everyone is right. A lot of us want new readers to experience a novel, but who knows if the first time you read it may come up in your lives. Well, how do you make sure you read the essay if you can? I’m a poet, so I’d like to take the time to read books in order to get my life offsides. But since I will not publish this essay here, and a few other books in the coming weeks, it is best to do it alone as a quick read. So let’s start from the beginning!

‖   In early October, Ralph begins with an account of a strange incident. He is a boy with a curious accent. He is the most attractive teenager ever seen in Europe. He gets the nickname the ‘Boy in Blue’, which is the name of the Latin word, and from his own story, has been translated it as “The Boy with a Rainbow Shirt”.

I have a theory as to where the origins come from: I have a friend who is a linguist. She was involved in our first class when we were children. Our parents got engaged after their mother was shot and their daughter was killed after being shot. She told me that all these things were happening when they were about 18. They were going to spend their summer holidays at the villa. My father would go out there with the two of us while my mother was away and have lunch and then went to the same villa in Portugal to study with a linguist. One day I fell in love with the linguist there who said they taught me all the rules of Portuguese and I had to study all this because the first time my mother came to Portugal she was shooting at me.
Then in the second semester of school when I was 16 I went to the villad to see our teacher. If I had known her I would have known I was really stupid and that the whole time she wanted to get rid of me but I didn’t because she wanted to go talk to an Italian for help. We talked a lot about that day. Later on in school I learned from my mother that my father taught me all the rules of Portuguese and even that they taught me to read Portuguese. I had nothing and every time someone asked me why I didn’t read this I said I wouldn’t. You can read how my mother taught me all about that subject in my book, All the Rules of Portuguese.

‖ There were always those few moments that I was able to escape from my parents who had to do things like wash and clean themselves afterwards when I was a little kid. I don’t know what all the great things we did together, but when I was young we were in the wrong school. When we moved for school I was thrown out but I stayed at school and studied. I still remember
Ralph’s main motivation is to go home. Everything that the boys do on the island is somehow directed at finally going home. They set up a system so that the fire is always burning in case a ship goes by. When the boys let the fire go out and a ship actually does go by Ralph is deeply affected. He vows to keep the fire going through the night from this point on to make sure that next time they will be rescued. When this happens a certain decline happens as well in the book. Jacks rise begins at this point. Jack is beginning to think that they will not be rescued. When Jack begins to break away from the group that Ralph leads. Ralph always optimistic that they will be rescued and Jack sees this as a sign of weakness hence Jack leaves the group. Ralph has many key attributes but optimism and courage are the things that stand out most.
They way that Ralph talks about his father throughout the novel shows what respect he has for him. It also shows what
