Patient falls are caused by multiple factors, which result from a complex interaction of intrinsic and extrinsic risk. Intrinsic risk factors is integral to the patients system which are associated with changes related to aging, disease, they are including previous fall, decline in visual acuity, unsteady gait, poor mobility, confusion, acute illnesses such as stoke, orthostatic hypotension and chronic illnesses such as dementia and parkinsonism.
