Sports Negligence
Negligence is the act of not observing the legal measures that are underlined in order to prevent someone from getting hurt when an accident occurs. In sports, the negligence of an organization may lead to the injury of the spectators who may have come to watch the game and be entertained during sports events. The law attributed to negligence that one party owes another one a responsibility to care. It, therefore, outlines that reasonable steps be formulated so that prevention can be installed in order to prevent the other party from being injured. If the first party fails to prevent the other party from suffering and get injured, he may be blamed of negligence. This responsibility of the parties to take care of the spectators during a sports event is usually outlined in the risk management plan. The plan usually investigates these duties and implements them as required by the law (Davies, 2012).

Injuries may also due to competitors negligence. A competitor may injure him or her opponent while the sport is on and, therefore, the too requires to be responsible in such cases. In this case, the organizers need to have well outlined guidelines that will enable competitors to play without each other. The competitors may also be warned that if the opponent suffers injury due to negligence of the other party, the culprit will be held responsible and not the organizers (Winslow & Goldstein, 2007).

Spectators may also suffer injuries from the competitors. The competitors are required to observe certain rules and regulations so that they may not cause harm to their fans. Spectators are also required to observe certain boundaries so that they may stay safe. Spectators mostly assume these rules and, therefore, end up injured. The organizers need to highlight that if injuries are arising from voluntary negligence, where the spectators are very much aware of the expected harm if they behave in a certain manner and continues to do so, then the organizers need to inform them that no one should be liable in such a situation. The organizers need also to take caution and restrict spectators who do not observe the laid out regulations that may lead to injuries (Winslow & Goldstein, 2007).

Risk management is very important for sports organizers (Davies, 2012). They need to study their field of profession so that they may reduce losses that arise from injuries of the spectators. Risk management starts by identifying the main cause of injuries. This is possible if the organizers can follow back the trend of hazards that have been unfolding. The trend of previous injuries can help organizers to know the major causes of hazards and injuries in the sports field. The knowledge can then be utilized to formulate the possible ways that can be injected to reduce cases of injuries.
