ENGLISH ESSAY
I remember driving down the road with my mood similar to a lions when he gets no food. I was pressing hard on the “next” button every second to change the radio station. Eventually, on radio 95.5, I heard the initial beats of a song which sent chills down my spine. As soon as the lyrics began, I started to yell them out without even noticing that I was in the middle of the highway with a million people staring at a goof yelling in the most absurd voice complaining he cant call home because he doesnt have any change. The beats made me move my head from side to side singing out every single word and trying to imitate the vocalists cheesy voice and hit the high notes. Yes, Im talking about Maroon 5s “Payphone”.

It may not be the manliest song Ive ever heard but I have no shame in saying that Im completely in love with those fancy beats and cheesy lyrics. The problem is, I dont just listen to it, I make others listen to it as well. Whenever I may be feeling a little off the hook, I turn on the stereo as loud as I could and sing along. This not only makes me look like a creep, but it also gives my family and neighbors a reason to curse me for ruining their peaceful environment. But I dont mind, because its completely worth it.

Even though the song may be a little outdated by the time I go to college, Ill totally make my roommate fall in love with this track even if he hates cheesy songs. After all, this song brings back some great memories of the days I spent with someone special whose not part of my life anymore. Rather than crying over the fact that shes not with me anymore, I love rocking out on this song and cherishing the time is spent with her and be cheerful about it. Apart from that, I just love how the vocalist makes me want to move when he says “IM AT A PAY PHONE TRYING TO CALL HOME, ALL
