This is something that employers currently have control over as Marijuana is illegal, there fore if an employer felt that an employee was under the influence of Marijuana, the employer could force the employee to take a drug test that would determine if the employee was under the influence or not. With the legalization of Marijuana, law enforcement currently has a chemical test that measures the amount of THC in a persons blood. This is one test that is currently being used in California. Now with the legalization of Marijuana, Law enforcement will either continue to use this tool, or create a tester that is similar to the alcohol breathalyzer. Now with that being said, an employer could easily use the same idea to control his or her drug free work environment.

Legalizing Marijuana would help our current economy situation. Converting Marijuana into a legitimate product that can be controlled under government laws with rules and regulations, similar to Alcohol and tobacco, would save and make the United States billions of tax paying dollars. “From Canada weve learned that the production cost of government-sponsored Marijuana is roughly thirty three cents a gram. Currently, U.S. Marijuana consumers pay at least ten dollars per gram retail for illegal Marijuana. If the cost of retailing and distribution is the same as for legal tobacco cigarettes, about ten cents a gram, then selling the legal product at exactly the same price as on the street today ten dollars per gram could raise forty billion to one hundred billion dollars in new revenue. Our Government would simply be transferring revenue from organized crime to the public purse. “Easton S. (2009) Marijuana is currently in the process of becoming legalized in many states as a medical controlled drug.

Alcohol is a legal substance that is one of the most toxic drugs available. Consuming enough of this drug can cause not only organ failures but can also cause death. There are thousands of alcohol overdoses each year. In 2001 according to the Center for Disease Control there were three hundred and thirty one alcohol over dose deaths. Alcohol is also proven to cause violent aggressive behavior. It is also the number one factor in all automobile accident fatalities. Marijuana on the other hand does not cause aggressive violent behavior and has far less long term damaging effects when compared to alcohol. If alcohol can be a legalized substance that has far more health risks than Marijuana, Marijuana also should be legalized as a controlled substance.

Fifty Years Ago: Alcohol, Marijuana, and Depression Are All the Health Disparities You Want

  • In terms of health problems, alcoholism is something that I don’t have health issues with. What I do have is a problem that affects the brain and the brain is one of the most dangerous organs in the body.

  • However, people still know something about alcohol. It’s not just something that a person wants to do, it’s what people do in their lives. There is something happening in the brain.

Alcohol is the culprit in many psychological disorders and is a main factor in alcoholic disorders.

  • In terms of depression, the people I talked to said that people who do alcohol or marijuana drugs (as a drug) are depressed and if they are depressed they will try to get rid of those drugs. Those drug addicts often end up abusing those drugs. If you start getting up in the morning and going to the store to buy them for the kids and the teachers, you will be getting used to that. So that’s why I say if you’re going to start abusing these drugs or taking them for the kids or when you get out of the car you’ll find that the drug-users never get that stuff out of your system anymore. When they start getting in trouble it’s really no longer an issue.

  • While I admit that it makes sense to get your life from a certain direction, I think that if people start making choices that make them think differently and start looking for ways to change their lives, you’re going to have a hard time staying sober.
