Short Essay on Inspiration and Inerrancy of the Bible
In this life on earth, we are faced with many situations that may require guidance. The Bible is a book of rules and regulations designed as a guide for Christians to live by. According to the Old Testament, the lives of each prophet show proof of a greater authority than man.

The Lord Himself breathed His word of authority into existence, known as the Holy Bible or Gods Holy word. Christians trust the Bible because of God s faithfulness and His divine revelation.

The prophets of the Old Testament were supernaturally influenced by the Holy Spirit. In the King James Version of the bible we find the word “inspiration,” used, while in the New International Version, inspiration is translated to breathe. “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16. According to the scripture, in the same way God breathed life into Adam, He created the universe.

Inerrancy is the true word of God. It is passed down to us from God Himself. The Bible is authoritative, consistent, and accurate it also relates to all aspects of life. Mans misrepresentation of the Bible is due to his sinful nature. As a result, some lost information or the information has not yet been discovered by Archeologists. For example, the book of Deuteronomy 13: 1-5, consists of scriptures that helped Israel distinguish between Gods message and the message of a false prophet.

In defense of my views of inerrancy, the Historical argument would be my choice of argument. The scriptures are supported by truth; one example being the fall of man. This example reveals Gods relationship with man. Archeologists have had independent information available that proves the Bible is in fact trustworthy. We lack a solid foundation of knowledge when we make claims such as, the scriptures are not inerrant. We as Christians know that the Bible is inerrant, due to the fact that we would use the scriptures for some important events. Some of these events may include marriage, funerals, and dedication cerimonies. Furthermore, in order to preserve our faith we must not give up on inerrancy. The truth of scripture serves as a hedge of protection to prevent corruption. Without a strong foundation for knowledge and protected faith, we give up on important doctrines and set ourselves up for failure.

The relationship between inspiration and inerrancy is that they both consist of truth and revelation, and are both breathed by God. The words of the Bible are inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible teaches us that we can trust the Holy Spirit to guide us. Those who study the scriptures cant help but become filled with the life
