Subordinate gradations of social rank have always existed -oppressor and oppressed. Bourgeois formed from feudal society – Simplified the class antagonism into two classes: Bourgeoisie and Proletariat.

Industrial production monopolized by closed guild -Markets kept growing and demand kept increasing- Steam and machinery revolutionized industrial production (Modern Industry – modern bourgeoisie) – Commerce, navigation, communications, railway extension.

Bourgeoisie is a product of long course of development and series of revolutions in the modes of production and exchange – Each development, corresponding political advance – State committee manages common affairs of the entire bourgeoisie not the working class (proletariat)

Bourgeoisie has converted noble occupations and family sentiment in a mere money relation – stripped men of religious fervor, chivalrous enthusiasm philistine sentiment, leaving egotism, personal worth into exchange value, unconscionable freedom (free trade) – naked, shameless, direct brutal exploitation – Use to be hidden and veiled behind things like ideology and religion

Bourgeoisie cannot exist without constantly revolutionizing the instruments of production and the relations of production and with them the whole relations of society -Expanding markets globally (world market) -Old establishments destroyed, new ones cause life/death circumstance as indigenous raw materials are no longer made.

In place of old wants satisfied by the productions of our own country, we find new wants requiring the products of distant lands instead of national seclusion and self-sufficiency, intercourse is had in every direction (like a whore)… universal inter-dependence of nations.

Bourgeoisie creates a world after its own image (sells itself as civilization) -Agglomerated production and has concentrated property in few hands – political centralization (one nation)

Subjection of natures forces to man! Feudal relations of property became no longer compatible; they were burst asunder – in its place free competition with social and political constitution adapted to it by the economical and political sway of the bourgeois class.

Bourgeoisie has created a beast it can no longer control – over production! The weapons by which the bourgeoisie overcame feudalism are now turned against the bourgeoisie itself.

Each society has a characteristic economic structure >>> structure breeds different classes >>> conflict as they oppress or are oppressed by each other >>> means of productions cease to be compatible >>> structure begins to impede the development of productive forces >>>emergence of bourgeoisie out of feudalism >>> eventual destruction of the bourgeoisie… this is the process in which classes realign themselves in compliance with changing means
