YOGA AND MEDITATIONYoga is one of the most recent mental, physical and spiritual well-being in many parts of the world. Yoga is used to describe a situation whereby and individual self is in union with the supreme self in a harmonious and loving relationship. The major focus of processes of yoga is to achieve harmony in life and have a better and relaxed lifestyle. There are different types of yoga techniques and practices such as physical postures, meditation and they are focused at achieving physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Yoga experts recommend for rest of the mind, and an individual should have time to meditate on his or her life to have a better, healthy, harmonious and balanced life. Yoga classes will give an individual a wonderful relaxation, meditation and breathing that will help in all facets of life (Schure, Christopher & Christopher, 2008). According to Morrison (2013), yoga and meditation are two activities and practices that support one another but is not necessary to be done jointly. Through yoga, an individual can concentrate and relax, and these are important requirements for the practice of meditation. Meditation is a practice that exists in a yoga tradition in the effort of revealing interconnections of living things. Currently, their teachers of meditation and there are several factors that constitute the practice. Yoga happens when the mind is quiet, and this is achieved by relaxing nerves, body, senses, and the mind. Meditation is possible when external forces of a human being turn inwards, and the person can meditate on his or her lifestyle.

External disciplines of yoga and meditation comprise of the self-discipline, ethics, posture, withdrawal of senses and life force extension. When an individual is keen with his physical and mental well-being, the person will be assertive with all his senses and thus disengaged. Being observant and detached, an individual is no able to meditate. It is important for people to concentrate and meditate, however, meditation is more than concentration. Concentration directs the mind of an individual towards an object apart from oneself or individual cases. Meditation entails of the observing certain objects and thinking about them, and being involved in communication with these objects. In meditation, a person is asked to focus on many things such as self-realization and there is deep awareness of the situation and objects. A better way to understand meditation is meeting with the object, communicating with it through the mind, and getting to understand and thinking about it to achieve increased desired (Schure, Christopher & Christopher, 2008). There are several ways an individual can be able to meditate just like the different types of yoga. A person can meditate using sounds where a person is engaged in repeating same words to get the clear meaning and understanding of certain phenomena. Chanting is one of the sounds that are recognized in meditating and it is used to interpret universe words to produce physical and spiritual effects. Most of the beginners of yoga find that use of sounds helps them to meditate clearly and in the best manner (Sivén & Mishtal, 2012).
