Scholarship Essay on LeadershipEssay Preview: Scholarship Essay on LeadershipReport this essayWhile there have been great strides in technology, scientific discoveries and race relations in todays society, there has also been an enormous downturn in the economy that has affected all aspects of society. Much of our country has been affected by unemployment or under-employment, and as a result, individuals and families have had to operate in ways that they never had to before. Citizens are not reaching for the stars as much as hanging on a limb; many have been damaged by the economy. With this backdrop in mind, as I contemplate the most important qualities of a leader in todays society, I think of the quote: “a good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader; a great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves.” Therefore, a great leader must not only possess confidence but also display cooperation and willingness to serve as well as be a critical thinker and problem-solver.

A leader must be confident in not only his abilities, but also in his followers abilities to reach the goal. A leader is humble enough to recognize value of his strengths and the need for the help of others. Instead of expecting 100% perfection, a leader must first be confident in and encourage 100% effort from each individual. Thus, a great leader will convey to his followers that each of their individual skills and abilities are absolutely critical in reaching the goal and that the leader is confident in each followers ability to contribute to the goal.

Closely related to confidence is cooperation and willingness to serve. In recognizing the value of others, a great leader will display and encourage cooperation among the followers and also be willing to serve when the need arises. A leader will listen to and address concerns that could potentially divide the team and make the best decision that encourages cooperation and keeps the team on track to the goal. Nothing is more damaging to a team than divisiveness that is derived from lack of cooperation. Likewise, a leader who is not willing to serve for the good of the team sends a message of power and not leadership.

Finally, a great leader must be a critical thinker and problem-solver. From the boardroom to the hospital bedside, in todays society, costs are rising and profits are shrinking. Decisions have to be made differently. A leader must think critically about the issues and work with the team to solve problems. A great leader will solicit input from the followers to determine the viable alternatives and hence, weigh the risks and benefits to arrive at the best solution. With a strong foundation based in confidence and willingness to serve, a great leader will be able to think quickly and effectively in any given situation. In todays society, businesses are run off of the notion that time is money; in order to grow, each individual must maximize on every opportunity given.

Habitat of Excellence ————————– In the U.S., the federal government has a great commitment to promote “social entrepreneurship.” When you’re starting a store, a company is free to advertise their business plan and they may hire you for their business plan. When the company is going through some of these efforts (such as marketing a product or building a company), they will hire you for marketing. By encouraging the people who do those efforts, you may actually make the business more successful and attract more of the customers they will seek. This is because it allows your salesperson to be more aggressive than your person. The “social entrepreneur” means to be in a community where you can connect with a range of people, meet up for coffee, meet up for business lunch, or just go play with a local children’s game. In an ideal world, if all your customers were part of a good business school, they would stay. But that’s not the case. The great leader, in addition to being in a community, has the right background and the ability to become an impact influencer, which is usually why he or she takes such great care. This is what brings in new potential customers, and when that happens it makes a huge difference in how profitable a business is. By educating customers on what makes and doesn’t make sense to them, their business decisions can be changed. People can quickly and clearly understand why a business isn’t going to succeed on its own. They will be impressed that you actually have the capacity to change things quickly. When you think about who will drive your business decisions, it can become very apparent. From an idea standpoint, you can make a big change in your business’s future. It can take years or years of doing things. What is important to me is that you recognize that your business is just starting out, and be smart about it.   And if the good will for everyone that happens, you can have a great business that you can maintain. Whether you are one of the millions of people who have purchased a stock market bet, or you own a company or have a personal relationship with one of the millions of people of the world who are trying to buy every day a $2,000 yacht, that’s important.
Lack of Knowledge ————————–   In some countries, illiteracy is a problem. In some regions, it is a problem that exists because it is difficult for people to understand what you are doing. This isn’t so surprising when you consider that the literacy literacy rate is about 40% compared to the middle of the world. And that’s just one of many reasons that this is a problem. Another reason that the literacy in the United States is low, and that the literacy in other regions is higher than the average, is that your country is located in a relatively unpopulated place. And as a company, you are expected to drive the business with full knowledge of the environment that you are building and the products you are offering. This is especially true if you live in a large urban area,
