Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1
Definition of Faith
Faith enables the believing soul to treat the future as present and the invisible
as seen. Faith gives reality and proof of things unseen, treating them as if they were already objects of sight rather than hope. In the Bible, faith is related solely to two realities we cannot see with the natural eye: to God and to Gods word.

I. Faith verus Sight – 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
II. Faith versus Hope – Romans 8:28 “And we know that all good things work
together for good to them that love God, to them
who are the called according to his purpose.”
III. How Faith Comes – Romans 10:17 “So, then, faith cometh by hearing, and
hearing by the word of God.”
IV. Faith to Live By – Romans 1:17 “For in it is the righteousness of God
revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The
just shall live by faith.”
