This legacy has to be carried on for every employee and management in order to remain a competitive package delivery company. All of these aspects pertain to this legacy that revolves in human resources department.

UPS as a company has become an employer of rewards, opportunity and achievement, and employer of choice. The companys nationally recognized human resources initiatives focus on the idea of keeping the reputation of being the best package delivery company in the business. In the facility I work for in Ontario, our Human Resources department faces a lot of challenges when dealing with their roles and responsibilities reason being this location is one of the largest in UPS. The HR roles and responsibilities have to be followed correctly in order for them to be proper in helping UPS maintain the reputation of having one of the worlds largest and most talented workforces.

HR roles and responsibilities in UPSTo define roles of UPS Human Resources organization, the roles represent the interests of UPS administration by actively serving as a leaders with the organizational workforce, consultant, resource, and departmental authority on human resource policies, processes, programs, and transactions with support and guidance from management, division and Central Human Resources; to support a humane and supportive work environment consistent with the UPS mission and foundation values. In other words, UPS Human resources enforce the policies that the administration establishes and makes sure the policies are interpreted equally and fairly. The Human Resources Department at UPS incorporates several different roles and responsibilities which are; employment training and development, health and safety, regulatory compliance, employee information management, and community relations (Morgan).

Employment Training and DevelopmentWhere I work, my human resources management team faces the responsibility of hiring and training any prospective employee who is to become part of the companys workforce. Most of the hiring at UPS involves acquiring a part time workforce. Most of the jobs offered in the facility start as part time jobs. This process for the HR department is challenging due to the many different guidelines that they are set to follow. There is an interviewing that every perspective employee goes through. A requirement for applying for a part time job is simply that of a high school diploma or a GED. The development thereafter consist of promoting or hiring that employee that has been working part time first, to fill those full time positions that are available.

Health and SafetyThe safety of the employees and of the general public is of utmost important to Human Resources. Every employee is trained to avoid injury to themselves and others in all phases of an employees work duty. They make it well known that will not tolerate unsafe work practices. They encourage the involvement of all of their people in safety awareness activities and recognition for safety accomplishments. Training is the cornerstone of safety in UPSs fleet of package delivery drivers. The company invests millions per year on safety training. The HR department becomes a key enforcer of the health and safety procedures and makes sure that the money spent in those procedures is worthwhile.

Regulatory ComplianceRegulatory compliance is also a role and a responsibility of the HR department in my work location. Regulatory compliance has become legal and necessary in UPS. Regulatory compliance has become a larger concern for the HR department increasingly as business practices change. Human Resources department takes steps to ensure the company does not run into problems that will affect the integrity and availability of UPSs workforce. All UPS employees are required to comply with all regulations whether is a work locations procedures or legal regulations. Many of the procedures the HR department has to enforce are for example; all employees are require to comply with all dress code regulations such as, identification, boots for safety, and uniforms for all fulltime drivers. But the must critical is the legal regulations like, not working under the influence of any legal/illegal drug, harassments, assaults, like fights among employees, etc. The HR department has to monitor all employees

The HR Department is responsible for the integrity of the work situations of all employees and should not interfere with HR employees (who are under the influence) in any way. You can feel free to contact customer service for a comprehensive set of steps.

How do I report?

Employees are entitled to a complaint when a complaint is made to the HR department. Some examples of complaints that can take quite a while to report:

Contacting customer service (SAP) can help. SAP takes you through the process of reporting information about the employee who reported an adverse or discriminatory use of your employee’s time, and it can help prevent complaints from going to employees. Ask about how to report in writing. If it appears that some of the employees do not wish to take their working time out of their time to work directly on customers, it may be best to talk to your SAP representative. This helps you to ensure that the SAP has your back. Once supervisors of employees are notified of a potential HR violation, they can make sure they have information about the situation, or make any necessary changes to their processes in an effort to rectify the situation and protect safety.

Employees are entitled to a complaint when a complaint is made to the HR department. Most HR departments have procedures and regulations for what matters. However, you must follow them to make sure you can resolve the case. They may be in the HR department but you also have to follow them to ensure compliance with the laws pertaining to workplace health, financial stability and other business information requirements you may need to know.

If a HR official is fired, all employees who are on HSA have to report directly to their supervisor by phone.

Your employer should not take responsibility for your report and should not allow you to take your complaint in any way. You can take your complaint to HR but as soon as you report it, if you think that your supervisor may be an overzealous worker, you should file a grievance. It really is that little bit more than filing a grievance to the HR department. If you get fired, then your employer cannot stop any employer from retaliating against you.

Who may be asked to report an adverse or discriminatory use of work time

Employees of employers are required to report use of their time. Some types of adverse/discrimination discrimination may happen at your workplace due to the employer’s treatment of you. Your employer has the right to make an employer aware of your use of the information available to it by calling you back. If the employer decides that you are experiencing some form of perceived perceived discrimination, such as an unwanted work setting, discrimination or any way of interfering with your work or job, HR may ask you to report that use by the employer by email. You won’t be able to call back. Employees may also file complaints at their local employer.
