In todays society there are more people who want to be served instead of being willing to serve others. The motto for a Christian should be: “What can I do to glorify the Lord and help others to know Jesus?” Here are some points to think about: 1.) Do I know Jesus as my Lord and savior? 2.) Do I have a personal relationship with the Lord – Many believe they are saved simply by attending church faithfully, but this is not the case. The bible teaches you must be born again. John 3:1-6 “After dark one evening, a Jewish religious leader named Nicodemus, a Pharisee, came to speak with Jesus. Teacher, he said, we all know that God has sent you to teach us, your miraculous signs are proof enough that God is with you. Jesus replied, I assure, unless you are born again, you can never see the Kingdom of God. What do you mean? exclaimed Nicodemus. How can an old man go back into his mothers womb and be born again? Jesus replied, the truth is no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of the water and spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven.” (New Living Translation) 3.) Do I have the humble attitude of a servant and am I willing to serve wherever the Lord sends me and wherever I am needed?

People are willing to serve for a variety of reasons-but the most important reason is because the Lord called you to serve. A person who is called to serve will be a faithful and dedicated servant. Ephesians 6:6-8 “As slaves of Christ do the will of God with all your heart. Work with enthusiasm as though you were working for the Lord rather than for the people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.”

So, why not today make the choice to put the Lord first in your life and become a volunteer servant. The choice of volunteering should be taken seriously and the commitment should be kept. In todays
