Schultz definitely has what it takes to be an entrepreneur, obviously. Around the world he has become a model of success and an entrepreneur that others look up to. He went from struggling in his childhood to having an idea for an Italian coffee bar. With his persistence and endurance he stuck to his goals and conquered the obstacles in his way. Schultz stated, “it was a fear of failure that initially drove me to succeed.” (Schorn, 2006)

His story isnt that of innovation seeing that he wasnt the founder of Starbaks nor the first person to think of a cafe. He built upon the success of the three founders and their dream of quality coffee. After Starbucks started, a trend started and there were many different coffee-bars; including small businesses and big companies such a Caribou Coffee. (Schorn, 2006) With determination, heart and passion his dream came true. He is an example of entrepreneurial drive and the success one can achieve when willing to work hard and having a purpose to do so. Starbucks, in 2009, had over 10,000 locations in over 30 countries. It has become a household name and an average Starbucks customer visits 18 times a month. In his book “Pour Your Heart into it: How Starbucks Built a Company One Cup at a Time,” Schultz put forward his challenge to fellow business owners: “Care more than other think wise. Risk more than others think safe. Dream more than others think practical. Expect more than others think possible.” (Hyatt, 2004)
