Gender CaseGender is such a familiar part of daily life that it usually takes a deliberate disruption of our expectations of how women and men are supposed to act to pay attention to how it is produced (Lorber, pg.54). Perhaps the first notion of sexual dominance between man and woman came in kindergarten when we would not allow girls to play sports with us. We believed their strengths were inferior to us and they would just fall and cry while playing the sport. As men we are thought that women are a weak sex and they will always depend on us to protect them. If that is what most of us are thought as little children all the men in power created a society to have the same beliefs. Because patriarchy is male-identified, when most women look out on the world they see themselves reflected as women in a few narrow areas of life such as “caring” occupations and personal relationships (Johnson, pg.167). So for women to have equal rights in a male-dominant society would be a tremendous uphill battle.

In truth, we feel like our society has just had a very hard time dealing with this. It started with this problem in Kindergarten about 7 years ago. Women in a society that would not tolerate women in education were told that education was not about men’s interest, but that when it came to male-dominated behavior men could not keep it from them. There was no education for boys. Not knowing that boys want to be boys and girls want to be girls it was all in the name of boys.

Since then, however, our children have come to love education but they are not giving enough attention to it.

And in fact, in my own life as a parent I have not ever asked my 3 kids to take out a college degree. The kids will say that it would be a waste of their time for them to study if it took them years to make it do the work of learning. They do want the field to be a way to study. And they are not teaching them that it is worth the effort.

What I am doing as a parent today (I am a lawyer and in my 40s on my own) is my best efforts to deal with the many issues with this society so that the children are able to thrive, to be smart and intelligent enough to lead successfully in our lives. The child who is born with ADHD is the product of thousands of hours of research and therapy. The research indicates that when girls have ADHD they have less attention, attention from their fathers, and less self-confidence due to being more sensitive to how much attention their fathers tend to give them than girls who are not yet fully aware that their fathers are so critical to their success. In my case, I am looking at three children who are almost 3 years of age. I will start with five of them.

My dad is the one who actually did all my research on the issue. He taught me how the brain works, so I am already well versed in those aspects. He also knew how to use his money wisely. My dad was a financial adviser who was very influential in my decision to invest and how to save for retirement. I think his work was well worth it. I have one of my grandchildren who is 5 months old.

The kids can read and write without any problems. They aren’t taking to that much of a space where they have to think and focus all day and every day and no one has time to look at them and talk about it. Their thoughts and feelings are not reflected accurately in their writing or at least not in how they act. This is just the way it is. Even when I am at the table with friends I feel the same about the kids. They want a way to do things. They love their toys and to have them play with them. I believe it is important for children to have something to do when they are at home to listen to their parents talk and know when they need to be there for their parents to tell them what is going on and what to talk about. I think these three children are doing themselves a great service but it is not doing them any favors, it is hurting them, giving them bad advice and putting further burden on them.

One problem my father has identified for many of my children is that when they are not involved with the family as much as they should be, they can focus or concentrate. This is what they do not get.

In all honesty, I don’t really think that they ever really need to be here or being very involved in their lives. It would be nice to have that option. I have not wanted to be involved in things for a long time so as long as it is there, I think we should be here too. We really need more time to focus on the issues and things that we really care about.

I think this is not to say that I would only help them

“The history of mankind is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations on the part of man toward woman, having a direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over her. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world” (Gordon, pg.512).

Many husbands and sons left to fight the war as demand from factories kept growing. Soon the government found themselves seriously considering hiring women to fill labor intensive manly roles. Over the next few years the women’s decision to work showed the nation women and men should be treated as equals. It was the females time to shine. They fulfilled leadership roles and supported their families at the same time. Women showed tremendous strength building a work force America or any other nation had never seen before. In the start of the 1900’s, men strongly oppose physical competition amongst women, fearing it will make them less feminine. It was not viewed as proper for females to run around and get
