Advertising: Methods used in order to expose an audience to a message.
Voiceovers: Any speech that overlays the footage. The speaking will usually comment about the product or the idea presented through the ad. Different tones of voice, volumes and talking speeds are often implemented depending on what is being advertised. These techniques are further used in order to get the attention of the viewer.

Target Audience: Different appeals are presented in order to attract the attention of certain groups or sexes. The appeals presented will depend on what is actually being advertised. E.g. A toy ad will be targeted at children. Toy ads will be colorful and appeal to fun. Make the child feel that theyпіЅll be happy and free and that this happiness will last.

Headlines: Headlines are used to interest the viewer by catching their eye and making them curious. They may instantly show what is being presented or present a strong benefit when the consumer uses the product. A headline will generally answer the question піЅwhatпіЅs in it for meпіЅ and will set the tone of the offer. The headline will generally be a large font size so it is easy to read and impossible to ignore.

Music and Jingles: Music creates the atmosphere and mood of the ad. The music used will depend on the products target audience. Some Fast, Modern Energetic music may be used for something that appeals to teenagers whereas some slower or older music might be used to advertise something for middle aged people. Jingles are also effective as they stick in the viewers head.

Repetition: Repetition of either slogans or the products brand name may be repeated and reused as often as possible in order to make something stick in the audiences mind. TV advertising may use the repetition of logos to stand out in the viewers mind or the repeated use of text or spoken phrases/slogans.

Humor: This is a powerful tool as it attracts and interests the audience and helps them to remember the advert and the product being advertised. You will often hear people talking about a humorous ad recently after it has been released. This will further enforce their memory. The humor presented may not always relate to the product being sold however will often present a stereotypical message relating to the product.
