How does Harper lee use minor characters in To Kill a Mocking Bird to explore some of the main concerns of the novel?In the novel To Kill a Mocking bird ,Harper explores the main concerns of injustice, racism, inherit prejudice and cin the society of Maycomb County which was divdied into social classes.She utilizied minors characters such Mrs.Dubose, Ms Caroline, Tom Robinson and Lula to explore these concerns as events unfolded in the novel.Ninety-eight pound morphine addict,Mrs Dubose, was the racist old lady that lived two doors down from the Finches. In order to get to and from town,  the Jem and Scout had to pass her house where she sat on the porch watching her camellias and scolding them when  they passed. Even though Atticus knew she cursed about him ‘lawing for niggers’(1,6) ,leading Jem to destroy her camellias, he told him to read for her when she requested that as a bargain for her camellias. She began slowing fighting her addiction,in which Atticus saw her true courage, by focusing on the children instead of her alarm signaling for her addicting mediation. Attiicus wanted his children to know they must still do good to the meanest of people because they don’t know what the person is going through.

Mayella Ewell is the figure respresenting the connection between  childhood and adulthood.She lives beside a dump with her many siblings, where Tom Robinson walks home from work and something helps her with yard work. As an adult she covers it it up with her lies and yells out for the men in the courtroom to sop being cowards but as a child she tries to run away as she cries because she knows its not the truth and that is not going to change her living conditions at homeMaycomb was a socially divided society where colour, wealth and family background decides how  a person is treated.Mr. Raymond, a white wealthy man originating from a good family, is shunned for his relationship with the African American community. He lives with his coloured partner and their mixed children who do not fit anywhere .
