Gun Control
Today in our society , we as Americans are facing an ever changing battlefield of violence against one another. The once quiet neighborhoods of our past are now the stage from such heinous acts of depravity . A times it seems as I no one is safe anywhere. Children cant attend elementary school as proven by Sandy Hook. Going to the movies can be a choice between lie and death just as victims in Aurora, Colorado. And more recently a simple night of dancing can turn dead as shown by the shooting in Orlando, Florida. Ignoring these events, would be like watching a fire burn and holding the a water hose but not willing to do anything about it . We have to do something in order to protect ourselves from having history constantly repeat itself. There is answer out the somewhere but it doesn’t mean taking away our rights to bare arms as granted in our country’s constitution. Not allowing people to legally obtain guns further puts us at risk because those that want to do harm will either find a way to obtain these illegal firm arms or they will fin other means of carrying out their destruction on society.

Sandy Hook , Aurora, Co , and Orlando, Florida were devastating events in Americas history that showcased the mass destructive power one individual is capable of with relative ease. The shooter in the Orlando, Florida massacre was a licensed gun holder but had previously been on the FBI terrorist watch list . We can clearly see how that combination of characteristics could lead to such a disastrous event. But lets remember Oklahoma city and the Oklahoma city bombing, or The Boston Marathon in Boston, Massachusetts, and cannot not remember September 11th, the largest terrorist attack to occur on United States soil since the Pearl Harbor bombings of World War II. These six heinous acts of violence were all committed by a single , psychotic, evil man. I don’t personally think that Sandy Hook, Aurora, Co, or Orlando, FL would have been avoided if those sick individuals weren’t allowed to purchase or obtain fire arms. I think we would still be reading about them and still be dealing with the emotional aftermath of those event. I believe that those shooters in those events would have found other means to implement their plans of mass destruction. I don’t think those killers would have simply said “oh well , I cant get a gun to kill everybody today, guess ill check the weather”. No , there is a chemical imbalance, a defect, or as my grandmother Niki would say “ Their elevators didn’t go all the way to the top floor”, in the first place to even make them go down that path in the first place. Once you’ve become homicidal , that’s the problem in its self, because a fork in the hands of a homicidal maniac is a deadly weapon.

With the amount of violence in todays society as far as crime within our impoverished neighborhoods and the amount of mass shootings there have been , I do agree that there has to be a change somewhere because with current bills and legislature that’s in place its obvious they are not addressing the real problems at hand. Taking the guns out of the hands of criminals is the first step , but some of the proposed new laws would not only limit the access of fire arms to criminals but to law abiding citizens that rightfully and legally can obtain the proper licensing for such a privilege.

Lets first start by understanding what a criminal is exactly. Criminals are individuals that have been tried and convicted of an illegal activity. The very nature of a criminal would imply that they are prone to not following rules or more specifically laws. So what if they make news laws nd legislature restricting how accessible fire arms are made to the public, do you think the criminals are all of sudden going to take heed and get in compliance. No, if they’ve already been convicted of a crime and their rights to have fire arms have already been taken away, then them having a gun in the first place (which was obtained illegally)
