A mindset can also be seen as a person’s worldview or philosophy of life. “Fixed” and “Growth” mindset have different meanings;

In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They spend their time documenting their intelligence or talent instead of developing them. They also believe that talent alone creates success without effort. They’re wrong.

In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Virtually all great people have had these qualities. Teaching a growth mindset creates motivation and productivity in the worlds of business, education, and sports. It enhances relationships.

Now how can a growth mindset be used to overcome a fixed mindset? Before you talk about using your growth mindset to overcome fixed mindset you have to you first have to be able to differentiate between a true growth mindset or a false growth mindset. Do not make some decisions and think that they are based on your growth mindset. Now some steps to overcome the growth mindsets are;

a). Learn to hear your fixed mindset voice, b). Recognize that you have a choice, c). Talk back to it with a growth mindset voice, and d). Take the growth mindset option.

Some other ways to overcome your fixed mindset is by: telling yourself that “you can do it”, praise your mindset, overcome perceived threats, learn from your mistakes, challenge your brain, always think critically, work with others, learn how to learn, and be positive.
