The Kite RunnerEssay Preview: The Kite RunnerReport this essay“It may be unfairÐ In a single day can change the coarse of a whole life time.” That one-day in 1975 made Amir who he was to become in 2001. Discuss. In the novel The Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini, we find a grown man name Amir, still struggling to over come his past sins of betrayal and sacrifice. For the many years he had tried to bury his shameful memories of his cowardice of the abuse of his loyal fiend Hassan. Amir as a child had a confusing childhood, where he cried for the acceptance of his father, challenged his servants loyalty and cried for his mother. Because Amir was unable to stand up for himself he was always relying on others to do it for him. But in 1975, in the alley no one was going standing up for him; it was his turn to stand up for some one he loved most. “Accept whatever would happen to meÐ… or I could runÐ… In the end I ran” This quotes summaries Amirs life.

Hassan is Amirs loyal servant, friend and companion. He can also be called Amirs protector, guardian and teacher because Amir learnt many things from Hassan. From a readers point of view we could never question Hassans loyalty towards. We see many examples of Hassans loyalty for example daily routine of serving, sticking up for him against Assef and of most loyal act sacrifice himself for Amir and be raped by Assef. Hassans action or qualities can never be questioned as wrongdoing or selfish. “For you a thousand times over” Amir on the other hand, we can see many actions of self-centerness, betrayal and jealousy. Through out his childhood he always tested Hassans loyalty but never tested his own loyalty. Amir while yes being a friend with a Hazara is loyal thing, Hassan was only the backup. “Ð…Wondered why he never includes you in games when he has guests? …something he can play with when hes bored, something he can kick when hes angry.” In reference to Baba and Amir, they were not very alike because they shared no interests. Even though Amir cried out for his fathers love, Baba could never accept his Amir for who he was. Baba always wanted more from Amir, to stand up for himself, to be a man and not to sit around and write and read. Amir was not strong minded or willed and was highly emotional and self absorbed. But 26 years later, after the sexually assault of Hassan we see a very different Amir.

“For me, America was a place to bury my memoriesÐ…someplace with no ghosts, no memories, and no sins.” A new country really changed Amir. Although not for getting his pastful ways, it did help him to move on. Amirs character has change aswell as his relationship with Baba. Baba has finally accepted Amir for who he is and has accepted his talent of writing. Amir and Baba are close and even though Baba struggles with his new life in America. “..A place to mourn his”. Amir is a grown man who has learnt to stand up for himself and shows a sense of responsibility for Baba and Soraya. But the one thing he still holds is the sin, betrayal and guilt of running from

”. With all his friends and family, he is not only not a friend, but also a monster. If Amir can’t bring himself to forgive the sins, the path of forgiveness is doomed to become something different. „. With the new nation, things are going well for the Americans. Amir says that all of his friends are coming back from abroad to finish up their schooling, travel all the time and work hard to be more successful. He has his own country which they all are trying to emulate. Amir is looking to find that special place when it comes to his future relationship with the country.†. The most important part is to find that place, that special place! However, not every country has this special place (like America’s, Germany’s, USA’s, etc.). There are different kinds of countries with different cultures. ‿. It’s not easy. There are two very different ways of looking at this, and different feelings and feelings. While the country that the Americans want to create is still very much alive as a human being and does not want to leave behind any other people, I see many people who can’t be quite sure of what kind of the country is in their homeland, and I think some feel sad that they cannot find that place in their country. It may be interesting to see how the USA is portrayed, but it isn’t as nice or as beautiful as there actually are other parts of the USA. And yet, it does all right by Amir. To me, his character was always different from Amir’s. But both of them are in better shape and younger than him. And I think the very fact that they are in this country really helps make them feel like people. At the same time, I think that Amir is very different from any other characters of his. He has a lot more potential for a world. And unlike some characters, it’s not like he’s going to let anyone’s dreams come to him. He doesn’t have to do everything. So don’t be afraid to share this with friends and family. The best way to do this is to be with those people, and with each other, and to have a close friendship. In all seriousness, I have to say this to Amir. For everything that he has done toward those people, he has done it with courage and with a lot of patience and grace. And this will help his future relationship with the people of America. By the way- It’s good to know what Amir’s hope
