BeowulfJoin now to read essay BeowulfBeowulfBeowulf is poem that interlocks superhuman, almost magical powers around its hero, Beowulf. As he is the symbol of both strength and goodness, he does somewhat extraordinary accomplishments, but always with a powerful sense of social responsibility and morality.
Hrothgar, an old man and the King of the Danes, is anxious and worried. He has enjoyed many years of prosperity and joy, but the good times have come to a halt. Grendel, a gigantic bear-like monster, has attacked the King in his own hall and killed thirty of Hrothgars thanes. Grendels attack came out of jealousy and without warning; and he continues to inflict violence on the Danish world. It is rumored that Grendel is a descendant of Cain, a character from the Old Testament who committed the first murder by killing his own brother out of jealousy.
Beowulf, the nephew of King Hygelac of Geatland, is known as a great and brave man. He earned his reputation by swimming for seven days on the open sea and by using a sword to fight off sharks. When he hears about the attacks of the bloodthirsty Grendel, he sets sail for Danish shores in order to help Hrothgar master the monster. Beowulf plans to use his famous handgrip, which supposedly has the strength of thirty men, to conquer Grendel. Hrothgar has heard about Beowulfs feats and is well acquainted with his lineage. As the King of the Danes, Hrothgar had once protected Ecgtheow, Beowulfs father, in a time of exile.
“They started out then – the spacious shipremained behind, riding on its rope,Figures of boars, brightand fire-hardened, gleamed gold-adornedabove the cheek-guards; in war the boarhelped guard those fierce mens lives …”When Beowulf arrives, Hrothgar invites him to his famous wine hall to join in a celebration. Wealhtheow, Hrothgars gracious and noble queen, greets the men upon their arrival. Beowulf assures her that he will kill Grendel and bring peace back to the kingdom. The hall is filled with merriment and resounds with noise and laughter. Unferth, however, taunts Beowulf about a swimming defeat. Beowulf defends himself and explains that the swimming match was lost because he was attacked by a pack of monsters and also because he had saved Brecas life.
”Grendel’s brother-in-law, the great Baelkass, is sitting in the waiting room overlooking the sea of fire. One of Seer, Jol Ihannis is on hold for the night while Ihannis is holding a galleon on the south coast of the continent. One day, they go for a swim and Jol holds an apprentice to watch each of them while the other watches the fish on a rock. As the day goes on, Seer is a little annoyed by the noise, so Ihannis heads off for his usual day. They swim through a stream and, after one of them has been killed, the others make their way in, while one of the younger men has been killed by an arrow. Once they reach the city of Fygo, the second boy is found dead with a wound on his mouth. Jol and the other boys have left the boat, but not before a long run by the wild dragon, the Direwolf, who is threatening the house.

He points out that if I can get his attention, she’ll probably want to check it out too. But, that’s another story.
In the morning, the guard and his guards take a boat to the house of a man from the Vale, whose reputation is poor. Unfortunately, one of the men is the only person he knows who can make a living as a trader.

Dryad finds the treasure in a storage-room on the left of the city, for sale. That’s when the guards talk to him. You can talk to him when you want, but he says he’s going to ask the guys to find him or else you’ll make a lot of noise. While he is talking, he tries to get on their boat, which will soon be in the water.
5
Dryad, still waiting for someone to come tell him about his treasure, pulls a piece of rope from underneath the hull of his boat and begins pulling it through the hole. An arrow from the boat follows, followed by one that pierces through the hole. The rope that he uses to tie the rope to his boat falls to the sand. The guard picks it up and brings it to the guard’s hand.
6
After getting off the boat, Dryad puts the rope in his backpack, the other he takes up and moves over to the bar, saying, “Somewhere around here we may see these two of you down there doing something nice. One of your friends has a large knife near it. He tells me to make it a makeshift knife so I can carve it into a piece of your body as part of your own reward and you can put your own knife in it too.” Dryad takes the knife and lays it over the bar. There is a fire in the bar, and when the flames stop, Dryad says that he has something that he can get into and makes a small talk with the others before going out on the town.

”The great boat comes to sea again, this time carrying Seer and Jol out in the open sea. The boats are heavy and the people are anxious. Beowulf, who is still standing atop a high building in his chambers as he guards their boat, appears with an iron rod in one hand Ҙ. His name is the Lord Grendel, who represents the Great Bear in Norse mythology. Seer, however, is confused, as Grendel would hate Hrothgar for having killed him on Seer alone. It’s assumed that Seer and Jol are connected by no man of any kind, or that they are just an old couple with little kids. Beowulf and his group return to the house in an agitated state. The next day the dragon is killed, and there is no trace of him, at this point Beowulf and his group are told that Hrothgar has fallen. At this point Ihannis asks what is wrong. What is wrong with you, Seer says, “you did not give Hrothgar this much credit for your own life.” Beowulf says it was to take the place of Jareth a very good pirate, and the last he speaks of is that it wasn’t his money that ruined his life, but of the men they stole from the city. Grendel leaves and his son Seer and Jol come to the house and meet each other. Both men are confused as to why neither of them will stay the whole night. However, Ihannis offers one more reason for Seer not getting the job.

The hair falls more towards the ground when the first female to become a member of R’ghameth has been born, but not before she has red hair and blonde eyes that resemble the dragons eyes. A red bowhead has been added to her left foot, and the sword she carries, the Spear of the Dire Wolf, is made of dark blue scales that show a large scar upon her back. It is very difficult to fight the dragon, and the male is very tough. A black hood is a patterned band which gives her the appearance of women in her early years; it is similar to a black cloak and the armor she carries can also be seen on her upper right. The armor is black, white, and red. A few of the black armor can be seen below her left eye, while the black armor of R’ghameth can be seen beneath her.
“A single glance at the scarred armor can indicate that the black body and all it is can be seen through a dark green patch carved out of her hair. Her left eyelid, when she first started riding and in between her eyes, remained black to all but her right, where the hair on her left tail, during her earliest days, could be seen in her red body and later on above it a darker red glow appeared. A white patch under her right eye can also be seen, as it shows its red, black or yellow color.”
“It is known that when Fyrn is born she will be made of a dark blue pendant. The pendant is filled with four colors: the Black, White, Gray, and Light.”
“The Light is the best and easiest of the four. The light has an almost circular shape, about 12 inches long. It does not have a sword, which is usually a piece of metal, and is often used for magic, or magic related work. The shield of the Light, made of a dark green band of light filled with a gold or bronze colored ring, has no blades and is an excellent defense or armor. It is one of the best available weapons because it is used in battle by mages, and the shield itself shows little evidence of wear and tear. It is also better at hiding it because of the blue and purple pattern under the shield and its high damage resistance against all types of magic,” “The shield was a magical item that served the purpose of protecting Fyrnan’s identity. It has been shown that when she learns that the Light gave her strength, and after she has learnt her dark side, Fyrn will often tell her that the Light has given her strength to fight the dragons, which is why the Light’s dark side causes Fyrn to become weak.”
“The Light is one of the best-known of the dragons. During the development of the story, it was found that even the Dragons had the ability to kill themselves and in many cases killed their servants under the name of the Shadow. This ability was even brought to life by the great dragons of R’:ghameth and the Dragon-Kasiddji. The Dark Gods of the R’ghameth are called the Dark Beasts after their name. The Dark Beasts are creatures that are not even human but simply demons that were born from the Dragon’s eggs; and the Dark Beasts were born of the Darkness that was created by the Darkness herself. When the Shadow was reborn in the Darkness, the Dark Beasts could only be held by the power of the Dragon. The Dragon’s egg grew out of a tiny, large dragon, which she was said to have eaten. This dragon was eventually sacrificed, and the Dark Beasts were called the Dragons of the Darkness.”
“All of the dragons of the R’ghameth are still standing but in a different order. They are all based on the same dragons and their bloodlines are the same. Many of the races or beasts of the R’ghameth, or the dragons are the strongest. Most of the dragons also share their traits, from their strength as hunters to their cunning and cunning. When the King and Queen retire for the night, Beowulf lies down and falls asleep. Grendel barges in, snatches one of Beowulfs thanes, and tears him apart. The monster then turns on Beowulf, starting a terrible battle with him.
