For hotel industry, becoming a green hotel is a trend and more popular than the normal one. To be a green hotel should meet the eleven minimum operating activities set by the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) Green Program. The green resort can maximize efficiency and minimize carbon footprints so that reduce pollution and improve the environment. Also, it is a feature to attract guests to stay in the resort. The resort located in providence on Caribbean and include three main buildings and two swimming pools, one specially designed for children, Poolside bar, Outdoor parking, Restaurant, Garden, Fitness Centre. It has a Special Facilities, the Private Beach If you feel like enjoying the sun and the sea at the beautiful beach then head at the private beach l and relax at the sun beds under the umbrellas that are offered complimentary to our guests. You can also have a drink from Resort’s bar.Internal facility design11 Green Operating Activities Specified by the AHLABefore a resort concept can be designed, the 11 green guidelines should meet in the resort to be more sustainable and efficiency. These requirements are divided three parts. The first part is internal facilities design. It includes installing compact fluorescent lamps instead of incandescent lamps wherever possible. For instance, in a corridor, the light don’t need too light, it can save lots of electricity. And install digital thermostats in the guest room and throughout the resort. It can maintain a comfortable environment for customers and employees and save electricity fee for the hotel. The resort installs 1.6-gallon toilets in all guestrooms and 2.5-gallons per minute showerheads or less in all guestroom bathrooms and any employee shower areas. It can save water and reduce water fee. The last one is purchase Energy Star labeled appliances and equipment. Our resort purchase Energy Star to reduce energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In our resort, almost all computers and office equipment and lighting equipment are Energy Star labeled. The second part is that our resort made some contributions to environment performance by implementing some recycling program. For example, implement a towel reuse program that everyday housekeeping employee put the dirty towel to laundry and reuse it. It can reduce cost and pollution. Also, recycle hazardous materials found in fluorescent bulbs, batteries, and lighting ballasts through licensed service providers. In our resort, we collect these hazardous materials at fixed period and recycle in other use. We also recycle 20% or more office paper products and reduce waste. The last part is that our resort has a special team called environment committee and they have made plan and control environment protection for internal and external.
