Introduction
According to my learning, green economy is the one and only alternative for the modern economy totally based on industrial revolution. As the economic growth or some recession, whatever we are experiencing all over the world, only speaks about the money matters. There are no space for the environment to be sustainable and there is no fear of lose of any kind of natural resource being used as the input in the growth of the economy or any kind of negative impacts the resource have to bear. In this background, green economy is a shift of the same economy to sustainable economy that not only promotes to economic development but at the same time it also advocates for environmental sustainability, poverty reduction, social equity , and conserving natural resources with minimal stress on them. The demand of world is now a green economy, but still developed countries are not

To assist my view, I would like to mention the working definition of a green economy as one that results inimproved human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities. A green economy can also be thought of as one which is low carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive.(

Prospects of green economy in Nepal
Abundant biodiversity and natural resources are one of the major assets Nepal bears and it shares the major share of national economy and well-being of its people heavily depend on sustainability and the use of these resources. With forests covering some 29 per cent of the land area, their natural assets contribute significantly for livelihoods and food security. Although this area was decreasing at an annual rate of 1.9 per cent during the 1990s, this decline was reversed, leading to an annual increase of 1.35 per cent over the period 2000 to 2005. For instance, a trade can be done by the collection of the valuable Non-Timber Forest products (NTFPs) from the forest maintained by the community residing nearby and at the mean time they can manage the forest by sustainable harvest of the same products. Another field that can be a very significant step towards green economy is organic farming. Since it is a already established trade at least in small scale, it can play its part by feeding the world and at the same time it can meet various sustainability goals improved soil quality and engage more people into work and also conserve biodiversity. As Nepal is the dream destination of many people around the globe, the eco tourism can come up as a strong base for promoting green economy. Tourism sector of Nepal must be shifted towards eco-friendly one because this business is based on the natural resources and thus promoting the green tourism is to conserve them by allowing a minimum impact to the biodiversity. It articulates the principle of less carbon footprint per person visiting the country.

In an energy sector (energy efficiency and renewable energy), apart from the hydroelectricity, other alternative energy like solar, wind, biomass can be other potential sources to contribute to green economy. It directly reduces the carbon production and more green jobs.
