Business Modeling1.Project Aristotle found some resounding and recurring themes during their quest to identify factors that make up a great team. One of the factors was an environment of empathy and support where people were not scared to express their views and no backlash was anticipated for the same. The congenial atmosphere helped people to voice their opinions and paved the path for innovation and out of the-box thinking. This is one characteristic that I strongly relate to from my Fall quarter team. The entire team was supportive of each other’s ideas and no one was discouraged from following a different line of thought. This often led to us coming up with disruptive solutions to archaic business problems. Another important characteristic that resonated with the Aristotle findings was the fact that the team performed better than an individual. Every team member had a strong suit and we tried to utilize the strengths during multi-disciplinary assignments. The Team output or performance thus outmatched what any of us could have achieved on our own.

2.The very best team experience that I was a part of was at my last organization. At Deloitte we had a couple team meetings every day and some of them were really hectic. The best part of the meetings was that it was not restricted to official matters alone we often discussed a personal problem that a fellow colleague was facing and tried to come up with a solution for that. The practice helped us grow as a team and form strong inter persona; bonds that motivated everyone to help each other. The team also celebrated birthdays and anniversaries and went for a team outing at least once a month. The other great part of the team was the way we handled failure. There was no concept of a blame game the team took collective responsibility of the failure and worked towards identifying and preventing a reoccurrence. These were some of the exemplary qualities of the best team that I have been a part of.

Achievement of excellence is something I say when I compare my life with my coach or I coach.

I know I speak from experience on this but it certainly doesn’t mean I’m the only person to say that. As part of our success teams work on individual issues and when they don’t feel right on specific issues they seek to rectify the problem or put what they are doing into action. I do this with different roles in a team when we are facing a challenge, but for some reason this kind of work is always accompanied by a bit of a challenge:

A. The way the process is working

1. As I was growing up I used to find people who were extremely critical of me. To me, their primary problem was their lack of judgment on the issue and their belief that I did not have the vision to solve the issue. This was not a person I ever thought I would be. Many years later I was convinced I had to be better at it and I took this to heart by not taking on anyone else’s problems and giving myself my own. The last few times I’ve found people to get involved in team affairs it is because I’ve felt powerless, and to get involved when someone has been unable to help or because it’s hard to understand that someone’s being unable to solve the issue, was something that I would feel powerless. I decided I needed to help those people, help them find solutions, and help them find ways forward. As a result I started doing team affairs but ultimately at the same time I decided to not try to do anything because I would have to do it at all. I think I would have done much worse if I would have been strong. This is not the same as focusing on people and then trying to solve the problem, or trying to fix problems on their own, and so forth. Instead, I am just trying to make things right and create a culture that is based on good judgment and that people have confidence in each other.

2. The team approach

The way it works is the team process is a much different approach, from my perspective the most important. I have always valued being a team coach. I was in a league where when I took charge of the team I treated everyone very well. I had the ability to build a team that was focused on finding other players that could help and not trying to do it with everything just because I told myself he was going to be better suited to being the coach. Instead I would focus on what I could do for the team and work to fix some of the things I could not solve on my own.

But in my experience, the way the process is working isn’t exactly easy, and that’s where I want to improve.

One way to do this is to focus on what I am doing better. I don’t need to do anything else. I just want to build as many teams as possible to succeed and take the challenges that I am developing into a strong foundation for myself.

My experience with the teams that I went to is in terms of the goals of each team in particular as well as how the team process works around specific issues. While I understand the importance of one team rather than the other it also does not mean that there are only the same problems. Each team processes a lot of different issues and has to be on a great team path.
