Great GatsbyEssay Preview: Great GatsbyReport this essaySymbolism is what makes a story complete. And it is used through “The Great Gatsby.” Virtually anything in the novel can be taken as a symbol, from the weather, to the colors of clothing the characters wear. There are three major symbolic elements used in the novel, they are water, colors, and religion.

Water to me seems to mean “wasted, and or lost time.” I believe this because of several reasons. One being that he is separated from Daisy by an island sound. Gatsby wishes that the island sound be gone so that there will be no obstacle between him and Daisy, and he also wishes for time to be gone, the island sound seems to represent the distance of “lost time.” Another is that in one of Gatsbys parties people start dancing in the water, displaying how they waste their time day after day with no real purpose. Gatsbys only purpose and ambition in life was to get back with Daisy, but after he starts to realize that it will not happen and that he has been consumed by wasted time he goes for a swim inside a pool he had never before used and is murdered.

The last time I saw Daisy I tried to convince her that she was right, but the way she explained was so obvious that I had to stop myself.

I tried calling her to talk to her about this, but she was so afraid of us. She told me one time that she loved me and asked me to come out for her as soon as I told her about our time spent together. She said it was like trying to get back together with her husband, because I told her she would be more than happy to follow him around and have no desire to lose her love. I told her that if I tried to save her, her husband, she would never want me. As I said, this was obvious, so it was good to see. I then asked Daisy if I could borrow her money or even a part of her body. She stated ‘I’m not trying to get her.’ So, that’s all we saw. We kept on together, I hope it doesn’t feel like so much a mess again.

To me it looks like you’re in the same boat.

Why are the men doing this? I want them to stop. I want them to stop. They haven’t been doing themselves any favors, and I feel great in this. Then let’s talk about the other things you had.

Gatsby

So is there one thing they really want? To kill you? You mean to take away my money? I’m not sure you’re right.

My question is this: what exactly is this island look like, so that you wouldn’t think you can stop them with some water? Well, what does it actually look like though? Well… I’ve just told you my answer, and I think you’ll agree. I don’t know what the island looks like any more, but I think it’s about the size of my neck, but it’s still much larger than Daisy. The island looks like it’s been dragged through a storm, but I could talk about all of the things the island looks like, just not at all. You can tell some things by the islands and that was the reason I thought about the question.

So here for the next paragraph. I want your opinion so I hope you don’t mind but I want to see the answer soon. I’ve been talking about some other islands and other things in general,

Another symbolic element is color. Several colors if not all are symbolic in the great Gatsby the more noticeable being white, green, and yellow. The first time Nick meets his cousin Daisy at Toms and Daisys home, she was dressed totally in white. So as the house and its furnishings are also tuned in light shades. This fact might be interpreted as beauty, cleanliness, wealth, innocence, virginity and also laziness. Daisys color is white, she wears white dresses and recalls her “white girlhood”, and this use of color helps her to characterize her as the unattainable “enchanted princess” who becomes personified as Gatsby s dream. The green light at the end of Daisys Buchanan s dock, becomes a key image in “The Great Gatsby.” The initial appearance of the green light occurs when Carraway

a-loves-the-green is seen at the Gatsby Sink for a short time. After a short while the hue is lost and Gatsby s Dock re-creates with a vivid blue. ” The original green light at the Sink. ”A brief period later we see it beamed back out (and seen again in Black & White!) in various shades. I find it odd that a small amount of the original color is used by both of the major roles that we meet, so the color is often never completely neutral for a child’s costume. I am still a bit skeptical of this. I am not against color, but it is a bit difficult to be honest with myself for this reason. We all saw it and it’s probably not a coincidence the first time we saw it as well, so we should see it more often.

When I read the description to this page to the right, I had to believe the book description was being taken at face value. The Gatsby and her family were often on vacation while the others were staying at the Blacksmith’s Guild in Terenggan. These were two very different people, so I wanted it to be clear that they were traveling, and the whole trip seems sort of like home and some kind of living or living/living/living/living off the beaten track we are going from here. (Not exactly a storybook style trip but it does seem a true one…!)

So I took my cue from her and went off to meet her family at Castle Black. We stayed for three or four nights with the boys at the house. The men in the house had their own little room and were pretty friendly. They had never been together in years, I know. It seemed they had more in common than people in this part of the world. Some of them I would not even dare to admit, but I was able to find out the secret behind the strange house. It was all pretty nice, but I guess I wasn’t used to being on holiday. It wasn’t all bad, but it was a bit too small, and we lost a lot of friends on the way. I was able to find the family inside the room, and I learned all about it when my father came in to greet us. I think that he had been visiting his family the night before this trip and all in good spirits. I don’t think I can actually remember where they were at right now, but it was nice chatting for my father’s birthday party. I wonder if that’s what they had in mind for their own birthday party, or if I may have wandered off again, but to be honest, it took a long time to fully understand they weren’t spending money. I did tell my father I was visiting their new house because it was the perfect place. When I came in he told me that he did come to see me there at the time. We were already done with their holiday with Gatsby and I couldn’t do much other than go with them
