The Great Gatsby: Chapter 5 Analysis
When Gatsby finally reached her, an abrupt weather challenged the mood of the story. The pouring rain represents things going to the sad or wrong direction, but when the rain stops things starts to go well. When it began raining at their meeting, they might have been thinking about the sad and troublesome past, thats why Daisy was sad and Gatsby is nervous. Additionally, it made the scene and conversation very out of depth and sad. When the rain stops, it represents that Gatsby and Daisy are together; it represents joy after the separation. The rain is a significant symbol of the story because it makes the scene morose, yet when it stops; it fills the whole surroundings with goodness, romance, and joy.

Serfs are those who work for somebody wealthy; they can move their ranks, but they can never be in royalty or wealth, while a peasant will always remain a peasant and can never move their ranks. Gatsby for example works as a serf with boot legging and corrupt money making business; even though he was poor back then, Gatsby was able to make himself almost as great as the millionaire who hired him as an assistant years ago. Americans chose to be serfs than peasantry so that theyll be able to change their rank and salary. Even though they can be serfs, they dont care whether theyre making money by illegality or legality.

When they looked outside through the window, Daisy saw a great view of the ocean and the dock. Also she almost sees Gatsby as a toy or a cuddly person. Daisy wanted to get on of the pink clouds and put Gatsby in it and around. Daisy likes Gatsby because of his idiosyncrasy and wealth, of all the clothes that Gatsby pulled out of his closet and his great mansion and his current status. Daisy likes Gatsby, but was apparently unsure to love Gatsby as a husband unlike Tom.

Daisy already stumbled short out of Gatsbys dreams because of her marriage with Tom. It wasnt Daisys fault, but due to his colossal vitality of his illusion. His illusion represents his corrupt status that Daisy doesnt know yet. He wanted to recreate the past. Its been at least 5 years of separation, and Gatsbys illusions clouded him. His love for Daisy is strong, but his dreams being together with Daisy is almost unattainable.
