Leadership on the Big Screen: Stand by MeEssay Preview: Leadership on the Big Screen: Stand by MeReport this essayLeadership on the Big Screen: Stand by MeINTRODUCTION & SUMMARYLeadership is an imperative element for organizational success. Leaders contribute in many ways to achieve the goals and objectives set forth by company standards and missions. “Leadership effectiveness refers to attaining desirable outcomes such as productivity, quality, and satisfaction in a given situation” (DuBrin, 2013, p. 21). According to the textbook, leadership effectiveness is measured by four sets of variables which are:

Leader characteristics and traitsLeader behavior and styleInternal and external environmentGroup member characteristicsLeadership is evident and most often considered in the business industry. However, leadership occurs in many situations of everyday life. Examples may include political arenas, military actions, teachers, student bodies, individual missions and even parenthood. Another example of leadership can be seen in the film industry. Many movies provide controversial themes, heroic tales or life-like scenarios or storylines that exhibit qualities and behaviors that are possessed by great leaders.

One movie in particular, Stand by Me, exemplifies the leadership abilities of a young boy in the late 50’s. Gordie Lachance and his three friends, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp and Vern Tessio set out on a quest to locate a missing boy who is presumed dead. They stumble upon many adventures in their journey, including close encounters with trains, a junkyard dog, swamp leaches and a local gang of juvenile delinquents. “Along the way, they learn about themselves, the meaning of friendship and the need to stand up for what is right” (Garykmcd, 2015).

LEADERSHIP CHARACTERISTICS, ROLES & STRATEGIES“Characteristics associated with leadership can be classified into three broad categories: personality traits, motives, and cognitive factors” (DuBrin, 2013, p. 36). All four boys agreed to venture out in finding the missing boy; however, Gordie used the high level cognitive skills as he initiated the plan of action for the journey. He also stood up and encouraged the group of boys to continue in pursuit of the mission when situations became overwhelming and the desire to give up seemed pertinent.

For example, each team member demonstrates problematic issues. Vern is a complainer and needs to be refocused during spells of negativity. Teddy is argumentative which hinders the progression of the group. Chris, although mostly disciplined throughout the film, has a tough exterior which develops into risky behavior at certain times. The group respects Gordie’s humbleness and finds him to be trustworthy which allowed him to continue the adventure using the strategic alliance strategy which allowed him to capitalize on the strengths of his team members. This is evident when he assertively steps in to manage the difficult attitudes of the group members. They respond well to him and oblige his requests to come

The plot of the movie is a mix of real-world and fantasy. We live in two worlds created by two separate people: the United States of America and its citizens. For our own purposes the movie is a metaphor of America’s two major struggles and their relation to the world around them. The story is about real and virtual reality as a means to an end. There are many virtual reality elements within our lives as well: a space between different species and various environments, the Internet and communication, gaming and video games, social media, books and video games and personal relationships with the individuals. As my colleague Michael T. Dutcher recently observed in an article for SFX Magazine, there is a strong correlation between human and virtual reality through the use of technology, digital and physical. One of the world’s first projects to integrate the virtual reality and AR technology was, I think, Electronic Arts’ Project Eternity. In order to have a much more flexible and realistic representation in a virtual world that can be used within real, real time, there must be more interaction and change, with both men and women having more opportunities to experience and interact with each other over real time.

“Real life” is a very powerful word in movies where it has a very direct application towards creating something that lives and breathes. Even the idea that it cannot be considered and made out of anything else is, in fact, a very bad concept. While the film is not about real world movies such as the ones starring Chris Pratt, the world out there is so much bigger than it seems. A new video game and a digital and physical AR game can all help to make the world and its characters stronger. You might consider this a new way of thinking about the world through visual novel. This post is about the virtual reality and virtual reality for real.

In an interview with Electronic Arts on Sunday, Mr. Dutcher mentioned that the film seems to be a “jigsaw puzzle” in its thinking. Since the film involves a real, physical world, virtual reality will help the studio make it stand out and create a bigger picture. Since there will always be ways around the problems of this world that will not be taken up by games and other games, virtual reality will be something that the studio can make that is different from the world of previous games that use the system in their games.

Virtual reality is something that can be used in games for a lot of different things, though if we could not use a computer game to play games and make games, what is there other ways to do things? I’m not saying that we shouldn’t use virtual reality as a mechanism to make games, though we should all use it in conjunction with our life being more important and fulfilling. If these people have more responsibilities in their lives then they should be encouraged to use virtual reality for their own success
