Meet Your Meat
I do not agree that having a vegetarian diet will help these animals in their current situation. We would be causing harm to ourselves if we chose a vegetarian diet, what we need to do is to tackle the root of such practices.
My father owns a poultry farm which focuses on egg-laying chicken and I have seen how we treat the chickens that produces these eggs. We give them adequate, clean and vitalized water which helps them withstand heat since it could get really hot in their pens. Another is that we do not stack so many chickens in one cage, we very well know that they tend to be very aggressive when space in the cage is tight and when they do get angry they tend to attack other chickens and their eggs so what good is it for us if we put so many in one cage. We also give them feeds that are well adjusted according to the seasons, the behavior of the chickens and whatever factor would affect the health of the chickens since too much of a certain ingredient could cause severe changes in their behavior and mortality. We take care of our poultry and do our best to give them a healthy lifestyle we even vaccinate them from time to time to avoid sickness from spreading. Their wastes we either sell them as fertilizers or use them ourselves and plant trees and vegetables so yes we do clean their pens. In the long run it proved that good treatment of animals for food gave us more profit and the eggs always turn out great because it reflects the health condition of the chicken, when the chicken is healthy the eggs quality is better. Our business proved that maltreatment of your farm animals is not needed it in fact hinders the quality of your products, there is always a better way which doesnt require much of your resources it sometimes is only a matter of maximizing resources. I encourage people who work for the food industry to do the same practices we do to their animals and see that animal cruelty is an evil and unnecessary practice.
