Prejudice
We can identify with one or another type of prejudice. Often times, we understand what it is to dislike or not with another human being. Early on in our lives, we make connections of attractions and reputations towards others. We tend to form opinion and judgment because of these experiences, whether they are good or bad. In most of these cases, we are able to recognize what the results of harmful responses to others are. Most of the time we are able to let go of negative feelings, but occasionally we may let those feelings and emotions get the best of us. When that happens we tend to lose control and become victims of our own anger.

Prejudice is not classified specifically towards one group of individuals. It begins with our hatred of one person in a particular group. From that hatred, we move in the direction of abusive and damaging behavior towards the group of people the individual may have been a part of. There is a good reason why we form groups and are often chosen as the substance of hate and aggression rather than other individuals. When we judge someone, there is some sense that he or she is compared to us. To harass them, we would provoke some distress within ourselves. We attack others because it is easier to consider that a group of people has no body image unlike a single person.

Whether we intend to be prejudice or not it is in our subconscious. An example would be a man or a woman that in a relationship and something goes wrong or not the way they suspected. It is possible they may form a bias opinion about that person. If the relationship happens to end, it is possible that it may affect that persons future relations. One person will make an effort to be more conscious of and avoid others by who they were hurt by or disappointed them. Possibly forming an opinion that is unfavorable and blanket the “type” of individual as the same. This can ultimately lead to social stereotyping.

Is prejudice unavoidable or not apart of my life along with many others? Is it a personal problem or a learned behavior? There are so many questions that we can ask our peers and ourselves on this one topic alone. Prejudice is the process of judging someone. It is referred to the common phrase, “Dont judge a book by its cover.” This analogy has been around for years but people still look past that and see with their eyes and not their heart. People judge from what they see on the outside and not give the person a chance to show what they have on the inside. In other words, it means to come to a conclusion about a subject matter before knowing anything about it. I think that we are to a certain extent, all prejudice against something or someone at some point in our lives.

I do not believe that I am totally free of prejudice against everything. I think everyone is prejudice in some way or another against something. It does not have to be towards a
