American History XEssay Preview: American History XReport this essayAMERICAN HISTORY XThis film is a very good film. It shows us what causes people to hate other races and ethnic groups. Normally we hear about people killing, robbing and abusing other persons but we only see it from the victims point of view. In this film we get to take part in the “bad guys” lives. Things thats happened in their childhood, family life and the point being insecure of themselves causes them to do the horrible things that we see in this movie. The nazi youth here have a manipulative leader, and its easy for him to get these kids to tag a long with him because they dont know what they want to do with their lives. I dont think its really hatred these kids feel against Negroes, Hispanics and Asians, but they need to loose the pressure of things they have inside and unfortunately theyre the ones they take it out on. Its all hate without a good reason and Derek, that we get to meet in the movie, finally sees how stupid it all is. I think this movie shows us this very good, but it doesnt make me feel sympathy with the Nazis but understanding them better.
Its an important film because it can help people to understand whats going on in a Nazis mind. By understanding them its easier for other people to help them. The movie can also make parents and youth see the brutality and danger that comes a long by being in such an environment. It can alert family and relatives if they have kids that hangs in nazi gangs and get them out of it before it goes any further. Kids that see this movie and are a member of a group like this, might stop up and question themselves for their reason to do the things they do after watching the film. The film can also wake unknowing people up by showing that Hitlers ideas still are practiced today. Some people think it died when the war was over, but this isnt reality. People need to wake up and realise that its a problem today and that we need to put a stop to it.
It’ll take time to actually see a lot of it. But, you can see its in our lives all throughout the years as well. From the Nazi to a white kid we can easily see the signs of the movement coming to be the same we see to these people – an increase in youth, increased crime rate and the rise of drugs in many places. There are also lots of positive influences in Hitlers, the music in ‘Let the Light Come On’ and the children that grow up in a group like this.
All this information and more will eventually put a stop to a certain problem, so that an entire field of knowledge is open to all, but more importantly, all of us can use this film to help ourselves and others. It may not be able to do as much as it once did, but we can still make the difference. I don’t know what to expect, but I want to get that film out there for the world.
We are making this because we have to and I hope our time will be valuable.

Set during the war with the Axis in 1939, The Hitlers is a documentary produced for the Sony Pictures Classics by Rolf Jensson, who writes, translates and stars in over fifty movies over the next ten years. As well as documentaries on the conflict between World War I and WWII, the Hitlers series is also the official home of the Institute of History, the German Academy of Film and Television. With the aid of its own film project, the institute is responsible for the production and screening of over a hundred films, including films from over a hundred other countries.
The film has been edited up a whole lot. It was shot over two and a half weeks, much shorter than the standard six weeks. It’ll take you two and a half hours to watch and will be the perfect excuse to keep going forward.

The film will be released on August 11 in the UK.
This release is also being distributed via the UK’s Film & Television Commission which also owns and has a hand in distribution, merchandising and marketing.
