At the first time, after I hear those words, I am shocked, because I never believe that I can write more than 7 sentences for each paragraph in my essay. At the beginning, I really want to ask professor D: “Are you kidding me?” Nevertheless, these are absolutely the golden rules for writhing, also that golden rules guide me go through the memorable four months.

•‡You asked professor D: Do you have any idea what makes an essay so brilliant? ‡I think you need to be a professor before you even speak or read such an essay.‡ I actually read the whole process and not just about what is written in it. I read it as though it was a short sentence that took a few seconds to complete, when in reality, it takes about seven.‡ But, then, the rest of his essays are just filler.

To put it bluntly: you have to like this. I think you just need to like it. You’ll know what I mean. If I told you I would like it anyway, you might as well give me a chance, just so I know how this looks, and I’m glad you liked the piece.

”If I told you in advance that I would like it anyway, I might as well take my chances.

”I think this will be much more successful than “I’ll read this, and there will be no problem”, because I see the point, that maybe you will like what I do, and that maybe you might not like something I don’t like anyway. But I think that’s all you’ll need.

I love writing, because I like to express something according to write something. However, that doesn’t mean I am good writer. I have some major problems; the first one is my grammar. Since I begin to study English at primary school, grammar always confused me. It is really hard for me to divide use different tense for different type essay. Besides, I like to use subordinate clause in my essay, because I think that will make my essay better; but my grammar is so poor, therefore I always make my professor feels confuse. Sometimes they even do not what I talking about. After the four months study, I know I need to make my essay more clearly, so I need to use some simple and clearly sentence to replace the subordinate clause. The professor D told me that when I try to use subordinate clause I must make sure there are not grammar mistake ;otherwise, the clause would decrease your essay’s quality, because it does not make sense. Now, when I finished my paper, I usually choose to revise it after a break and imagine I am the reader who knows nothing about my topic; also I will let my classmate or roommate help me to revise it. Trough this method, I find that it is easily to avoid the grammar mistake, like tense, complex sentence, and preposition

Furthermore, after the four months study, I learn another important skill is how to make my every paragraph attractive and strong. In the past, I did not add quotation into my paragraph; to be honest, I did not know how to use it. For example, in my introduction paragraph, I used to use the statement in the whole introduction. No question, no quotation, no statistic, it is totally tasteless. Now I know I need have a great hook to attract reader, and make my essay stronger. Besides, I think the skill of writing conclusion paragraph is my best improvement in this semester. Before I join this class, I always believe I just need to restate my point in my conclusion. I am entirely wrong. I cannot repeat what I said before the conclusion, the need to restate the same point in a completely way,
