Odyssey was Seduced and Set off the path by many things. Those things pushed him far away from this path to Ithaca. Odyssey was seduced by calypso, punished by Poseidon, the god of the sea and went to Hades to have a prophet tell him his future. The following are more in-depth descriptions of his struggle on his journey.

Odyssey, while on his travels to Ithaca becomes trapped on calypso islands called Ogygia. He then becomes calypsos love slave. He wishes to return to his wife and son. But is stranded and has no ship or crew to bring him home. Zeus then sends Hermes to convince calypso to let odyssey build a ship and return home.

Odyssey is then on his way home when Poseidon, god of the sea, finds him sailing home and sends a storm to wreck his ship. Poseidon is not fond of Odyssey because of what he did to his son, the Cyclops and blinded him. Athena intervenes to help Odyssey and save him from the wreck and brings him to the home land of the Phaeacians where he receives a warm welcome.

Odyssey also went to Hades to have a prophet tell him his future. He went to consult the Theban prophet Teiresias, and how he saw his old comrades in arms and his mother who raised him when he was a child and how he heard the singing of the sirens.

There were many more of Odysseys Journeys as he traveled. Theses were the main and most focused of the story and how he overcame them was a major accomplishment for Odyssey. He then returned to his home in disguise and his wife knew he only could fire the arrow thought all twelve axes.
