Can Gods existence be proven?
God existence has always been questioned, whether God exist in our minds or in reality. Personally, I had questioned Gods existence but I never came up with the answer, and no one has done it yet. However, I believe Gods existence through reasoning. In the reading,” The Ontological Argument” by St. Anselm, he writes about Gods existence by logic, and explains why.
Therefore, by reading the argument of St. Anselm it became clear to me that God existence is in reality and not in my mind. One reason I believe this is because if we sit down and start to analyze the situation about Gods existence the most logical reason is that God is not only in our mind but also in reality. Why? Because if Gods existence has been questioned for so many centuries, how come no has said that God is just an imaginary person? In the reading, St. Anselm writes,” A being than which nothing greater can be conceived”,(81) He makes this remark because we cannot think of anyone else greater than God. God is the reason of our existence because if God did not exist then we would not exist. St. Anselm asked a question in which one by logic is right. He writes if God existence is only in our mind then, who created everything? But if Gods existence is beyond our minds then, God is the creator. This question makes sense one-way or another because we cannot make up someone else to be our creator.
Overall, I had learned that God exists in reality by logic because faith is something we all have, and we could have faith in anything. However, God is greater that any being that we could ever imagine. We cannot compare faith with God s existences because there is no such comparison.
