The Duralang Implant Systems USA division has been in place for 4 years. With the support of a strong parent company the implant division has been allowed to progress slowly and consistently. The decisions made have consistently erred on the side of conservatism. The German culture is one of caution, and the US has followed suit. 2010 proved to be an interesting year; record top line growth was achieved. However, the division still recorded a net loss. The expectation placed by Germany in 2011 is a dramatic improvement of our CM3 (bottom line), and profitability in 2012.

Several processes were immediately initiated. To begin, a close review of our balance sheet revealed some quick solutions. Certain items were incorrectly charged to our cost center and could easily be reallocated (much to the chagrin of the recipient business unit). Other items, such as some depreciation, were in their final year of life, and would be fully off the books in 2011. Certain shipping, purchasing contracts were renegotiated for more favorable rates. Some items originally shipped in from Germany, were re-tasked to US vendors to avoid Customs and other logistical inefficiencies.
