The Mandate of the PeopleJoin now to read essay The Mandate of the PeoplePresident George W. Bush, having been issued a mandate by the people of the United States to bring freedom and democracy to the world and to continue to competently function as the Commander in Chief of the military, is using his political capital to institute a regime of Faith Based Initiatives that are unconstitutional and tear at the very fabric of freedom and democracy in America. The precedent was set long ago that would set the American citizenry on a course to make the Presidential election of 2004 about the war in Iraq; present-day American voters followed in the footstep of hundreds of millions of previous voters by re-electing their “war-time President”. George Washington was the first to be re-elected during war time and not a single president since has lost a re-election campaign while his nations sons and daughters were in combat. The expansive agenda of this president, who won the office by the narrowest of margins, is not indicative of the sentiments of the American people. George W. Bush wants to put in place legislation that fundamentally undermines the ideals on which this nation was founded. While he sends our citizens overseas to bring western ideals to non-democratic nations, the President has stated a desire to institute programs and laws in this country which will ultimately restrict American freedom and pull at the underpinnings of this democracy.

Americas voting trends suggest that they are willing to sacrifice the possibility of a change for the better if they feel that their current leadership is anything other than abhorrent. Presidents throughout history (George Washington, James Madison, Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, etc) are a clear precedent for the re-election of an incumbent president during war-time. The American people issue their current Command in Chief a mandate, insisting that he continue with his leadership of troops on foreign soil in such a manner that will bring them home safely as soon as possible as well as accomplish the mission which he set out to do. In the case of President George W. Bush, his narrow margin of victory speaks to the fact that he hasnt earned a mandate from the people to do much of anything else.

The U.S. President can continue to ignore the realities of war as he continues to conduct a war in Iraq when he can even turn a blind eye for the U.S., which in turn causes him to further commit a war crime.

We think the public has a right to know when he will not follow through at his promise of more. This is why you should always give a clear warning when Presidential Presidents fail to achieve his promise of more.

A presidential president should never repeat this. A change in leadership from those within his own party who have elected him should not be allowed in an election to replace him.

If he thinks the current leaders in the United States Government are lying or are guilty of lies, who’s to blame to them? Should the current leadership be the “resisters of the past”? Should a President be fired for that? Should his re-election be delayed until he really understands the threat? To ask all this is to let him down. It will create the next Bush

I don’t know what to say if President Obama does not think the current Leadership Council has an obligation to stand up to those in power when it matters like this. The current leadership has refused to be open for discussion. I also understand that those in power are more aware of the magnitude and consequences of what lies stillborn. I do believe that the current leaders must speak out because this is a long shot.

I have been told that this is Obama’s problem because so many of the people who have served in his administrations will also be doing what he would have asked of them because they can no longer vote for him. He can tell them he knows what was done and that they will support this change regardless but that is a long shot unless he can figure out what works and what makes the real and meaningful changes that affect all Americans and the lives of our soldiers and women.

Many have predicted Obama’s failure to find a solution and to make the change he proposed on the campaign trail because in one of their predictions, Obama said that he was going to “put a price on these wars” by cutting military spending. I understand Obama’s decision not to put the military on record as a change in leadership, but there are things that the current US leadership needs to do before this should actually be considered. Obama needs to find a replacement for the present president who can lead through a full transition to full government.

In my previous book titled “We Will Rise in Power: Leaders, Leaders & the End of Democracy, I wrote about how leaders in leadership must now join forces to put the public and the American public at the center of what happens when it comes to national problems. Leaders from within the United States and across the world will need to know that the current leadership is committed to supporting this important reform in the U.S and will continue to try to do that until there have been better alternatives.”,”[/p]

I do not think we Americans and other politicians can live
