As they were the only team to bomb enemies without losing anyone the troops gained confidence in themselves and in Gen Salvage as a leader and eventually cancelled all their transfer requestsOn account of one incident where a pilot had broken ranks to save his roommate he ordered to change the roommate arrangement for all pilot. This eventually instilled discipline in all and put the pilots to think about their team before their roommates.Gen Salvage ignored the central commander’s decision to fall back during a mission because he was confident to lead the team into a good bombing session. Eventually they were the only team to bomb the enemies successfully without a single loss. This instilled the long lost confidence in the team and they no longer considered them as the “Hard luck group”.Gen Salvage put all non-performing pilots into the Leper Group led by Major Gately which made these non-performers perform better as their self-respect was hurt.
