After our class about the temperamental types of I was able to go watch students with a better understanding of how they behave. I could see students different by their behavior I could say this students’ temperamental is this and this students’ temperamental is this. It gave me a better understanding of students rather than putting students into two categories the good and the bad students. I know now, that as a future teacher I am going to help every student to learn as greatly as possible despite all the ways in which students differ from one another.

I went to observe Spanish 2-3 Level III. These students are taking Spanish to fulfill their language requirements that some universities and colleges require. These students are not going to go and take four years of Spanish. Therefore, I believe they do not take this class seriously all the time like the rest of their classes. The teacher told me that this kind of class are the hardest to teach because most of the students do not came to the class ready to learn they came to the class to have fun. Therefore, during the class students do not behave properly and causes interruptions to the teacher and classmates, for example talking, playing around, not paying attention and not beings not ready for class are few examples.

The classroom was a typical Spanish class, Spanish words posted in all four walls, very colorful with flags and pictures from countries where Spanish is spoken. The teacher has Latin American music on while she waits for the class to arrive. The class that I observed had fourteen students most of the students are either freshmen or sophomore students. The class has nine females and five male students.

During one of my observation I noticed that some students had to be called inside the classroom, supposedly they did not hear the bell to start-class. When it was time to start the class they were very loud, students were literally screaming at each other. (Not fighting)It was hard to bring them back to quiet down and start the class. Maybe four or five students were sitting down waiting for the rest to be ready. From my observation I believe I have students who have high activity level. Students who were outside the classroom until the teacher called them inside and when they got inside many continue their conversation inside the classroom. It was like they did not notice the teacher was there. We could say that their mood toward the class was negative, many of the students’ faces and behaviors were negative it was like they did not want the class to start.

At another situation the students were going to review their homework. The majority of the students complained that the homework was hard and that they could not do it. In this activity the nagging and complaining became the focus instead of the activity. All the students wanted to talk at the same time. There were about 6 students what were very loud/noticeable and that kept saying the same thing over and over again. There were only three students who were sitting down ready for class and did not said anything. In this scenario most of the student showed that they were not happy with their homework by their intense reaction, nagging and complaining for a good ten minutes until the point in which the teacher was listening to the students rather than teaching them.

After the teacher got control of the class by raising her voice and pointing out who needed to be quiet, the teacher started with the grading of the homework. To my surprise, the students who were loud continue being louder and constantly went out of task. In this class students are only allowed to speak in Spanish, and these students were speaking English. These students were very distracted or interrupted the class when other students were saying their answers. I believe these students have a short attention span. They were angry because the homework was difficult and they showed it by protesting. It was hard for the teacher to keep them focus with the activity, they were giving out to easily on their homework and did not follow the instructions to learn the vocabulary words and verbs.

At one point most students were paying attention but seem not to understand what was going on. Very low processing information comprehension. Teacher constantly had to call one of the students to sit down or help her write the answer in the board. The student did not do a good job. This student is high active student because he can not be still for three minutes or be quiet for no more than a minute. He loves to be the center of attention. During the activities the teacher constantly
