What am I doing here now? There are a couple of ways to answer that question. It all really depends on how you look at it. In this case, its more about how you “tackle” the question. Probably the easiest route to go would be to just talk about what Im actually doing at this moment. There isnt really anything complicated about that. Im sitting in my room in front of my computer screen listening to music primarily thinking about what words I can say to fill 2 or 3 acceptable pages of thoughts to hand in to you. I could go a little deeper into the back of my mind but thats really not important, necessary, or anything I really want to get into right now.

I could always just look at the question in terms of school and where Im headed. How did I get to where I am now? Which would lead to “What am I doing here now?” After a long pause Ive just decided that right now Im the process of working my way towards some of my goals. Some of them are very open ended but I know that where I am now is a place that I need to be. Taking this Psychology class doesnt seem like its necessary to get to where most of want to go but I can definitely see how it can be used. We need to be able to have an understanding of our clients and of the type of consumers we would be trying to reach. I digress, for Im getting off track. What am I doing here now? I can you tell one thing that is certain, Im here now wondering how someone can fill 2 to 3 pages with serious information about what theyre doing here right now. As soon as I heard the topic of this paper that previous statement was the first thing that came to mind.

If you want to take the question into its vaguest form I guess you can say that what Im doing right now is living. Im alive and Im breathing, thats usually a good thing. It just seems too simple when you put it like that though. What are we really doing here now? Somehow it seems that one way or another were here doing our part in keeping this world going (At least the world that were used to). Now youve got me really perplexed by this question. Thanks a lot.

I could take the question into a darker tone and say that were all just waiting until the end of line. Thats too morbid though, it feels like something I wouldve said when I was 13 and immature. I guess we all have some sort of purpose though, right? Thats more of a rhetorical question in a way. Thinking that were all just sitting around until we get a V.I.P. pass into the underworld is just ridiculous. Im sure it seems that people such as the bums on every street corner in this city dont contribute to what were all doing here now but It seems that they do. How we get to where we are is primarily affected by the decisions we make and the decisions of those around us. For example, if a woman is forced to make a decision between two important men in her lifeall three lives are going to be changed greatly by such a decision. Even lives outside of the immediate decision, such as another woman who will meet the rejected man, will be affected by that first womans decision. What Im doing here now is rambling and getting slightly off-track.

Maybe I can look at the word “here” and figure out what to say based on that. If I think about “here” in terms of location I could talk about what Im doing here in my room. Which is a question Ive already answered, Im here listening to music and contemplating the question youve asked us to right about. I could also think that it couldve been in terms of the classroom since you asked us this question there. When I look at it that way though “here” becomes “there” because Im no longer “there” in class and instead, Im “here” in my room. Im definitely putting way too much thought into this but thats what we do in psychology, right?

I could also look at the word “here” in terms of time. That could also lead to some “here” and “there” confusion in terms of where the question was asked and me asking myself
