Global Warming: Climate change
“I do not want to die,” yelled my cousin to his mother on one summer day. My cousin had used the computer in his room all day and his mother wanted him to go out to get some sunlight and do some exercise instead of using the computer. The temperature is rising little by little each year. The highest temperature in phoenix is 109 degree this year. The heat was killing people and my cousin just wanted to stay home and play with his computer. Since the temperature in Arizona is very hot, most of people just want to stay indoor than outdoor. Those high temperatures were caused by the global warming, and global warming that shift the living environment on the earth is caused by greenhouse gases in the world. Greenhouse gases include water vapors, carbon dioxides, methane and ozone. The three most significant factors that cause climate change are fossil fuel burning, air pollution, and deforestation.
To begin with, burning of fossil fuels increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The fossil fuels used to produce huge amounts of energy for factories contained high volumes of carbons and hydrocarbons. After the start of the industrialized revolution in the 18 century, the use of the fossil fuels by the factories was continued. Factories were burning fossil fuels to help mill flour and mill lumber. There were hundreds of thousands of factories in the world, and each of them created unimaginable amount of carbon dioxides each year. Nowadays, fossil fuels are used to create petroleum to fire up the engines of automobiles and aircraft. Automobile and aircraft also create tremendous amount of air pollutants through the exhaust they issue into the atmosphere. There are at least two cars in every American household and Americans contribute a huge percentage of carbon dioxide gases released. About 21.3 billion tons of carbon dioxide is created each year in the world. Twenty-five percent of the carbon dioxide in the world was produced by industries over the last one and one-half century (fossil fuel). The quantity of carbon dioxide is getting larger and larger every year, and the main factor is the burning of fossil fuels.
Also, air pollution has contributed to climate change. Air pollutants are chemicals such as cyanide, mercury, and nitrogen oxide. The main pollutant in the environment is nitrogen oxide. The key function of the nitrogen oxides is to lower part of earths atmosphere. The lower layer of the earths atmosphere absorbs more heat from the sun, which increases the rate of global warming. Our living environment is getting more ultra violet rays. Nitrogen oxide is created by aircraft and automobile emissions in biomass
