Conservation and Preservation
Conservation and preservation refers to which solution is better for the forest. Conservation is a balanced approach which attempts to preserve wilderness and ecology in a changing landscape. An example of conservation would be to protect the polar bears from harm while drilling in an Alaskan oil preserve.

Preservation preserves natural wilderness and ecology without disturbing it. For instance, wildlife preserves are pristine wilderness and no disturbance is legally allowed to preserve the environment.

I do believe that humans can harvest forest resources in an environmentally friendly way. Harvesting forest resources without damaging the ecosystem is possible.Humans will always find trees to be useful; we use trees for just about everything (e.g. paper products). Therefore, we need to find a balance between conservation and consumption. Each tree that is used should be replaced with a new one.

I am inclined to conservation; humans need natural resources for all the necessities we use, we replace, or give back to the environment we can maintain sustainability.

In the video it states a specific wilderness as Management Area 71, how people want to drill for oils and make changes to the land. To me, that is unacceptable because they are changing the forest by wanting to add pipelines and other things. They should work on a way to find a way to obtain the gas and the oil without making any changes to the forest because by making changes the wild animals will become endangered.
