Deforestation
Essay title: Deforestation
SPH 101 Informative Outline
(I) Introduction
Defining deforestation: It simply means the removal of trees.
(II) Central Idea
Talk about three different areas of deforestation:
The effects of deforestation on wildlife.
The effects of deforestation on the global environment.
The preventive measures against deforestation.
(III) Body:
A The effects of deforestation on wildlife:
– The rainforest is one of the most biologically diverse regions of the world.
more than a million species live in the rain forest and from that number, millions of those species are not classified.
Deforestation affects the rainforest because many trees are lost in the process.
These trees play a very important role of housing many forest animals. In other words the trees serve as the animals homes. If these trees are destroyed, the animals are affected in many ways.

Some animals would have to migrate to other environments far away (like birds), and this leads to extinction of animals in the area.
Many animals also die when their habitat is lost
B The effects on the global environment:
Climate change
According to an article called ”Amazonian Deforestation and Regional Climate Change” written by “Carlos A. Nobre, Piers J. Sellers, and Jagadish Shukla”, there was a significant increase in the mean surface temperature (about 2.5°C) and a decrease in the annual evapo-transpiration (30% reduction), precipitation (25% reduction), and runoff (20% reduction) in the region. Also, the deforested case(soil examined from an area) was associated with larger diurnal fluctuations of surface temperature and vapor pressure deficit. The article also says that the effects mentioned have been observed in existing deforested parts
