The respondents will be tourism students enrolled in the 2nd Semester Academic year 2014-2015. It will be administered in Lyceum of the Philippines University. The duration of the study will be from November 2014 to March 2015. The study will be gathered from the primary and secondary data. The respondents’ size will be approximately 100 selected tourism students.Significance of the StudyThe study entitled, “Licensure Exam for Flight Attendants as perceived by selected Tourism students of Lyceum of the Philippines University Manila for SY 2014-2015” will be beneficial :To Lyceum of the Philippines UniversityThe trust of Lyceum of the Philippines is to upgrade the standard of education in the university, focusing on the airline courses, practical and laboratory activities that will help in enhancing the knowledge and skills of the students.To Tourism studentsThe study will be more beneficial to tourism students by broadening their knowledge and skills about the program as they start their professional career.To Aviation IndustryThe study will help the airline companies and organizations having more qualified employees rendering genuine services to increase the competitiveness of the tourism industry globally.To Future ResearchersThis study can be a source of information to be used as basis for further study. Introduction of the studyThe Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has mandated flight attendants to secure a license starting on July 2013 as to professionalize their ranks. This requirement is set to be a solution for the following complaints to flight attendants or cabin crew in handling crisis situation over the years. According to CAAP, the licensure requirement will ensure the flight attendants or cabin crew members have the necessary skills to follow and implement global standards in emergency situations. The airline employees will be benefited with regards to labor protection and work security. Thus, the licensure exam can be a key to uplift and elevate professional skills, knowledge and competitiveness, and protect the rights of a flight attendant.The licensure exam is a way to guarantee technical, professional and legal standards, protect health, safety and welfare of the public to measure candidates’ abilities and practice proficiently. According to CAAP, the licensure exam for flight attendants is following the Civil Aviation Authority Act of 2008, Republic Act 9497 and the Philippine Civil Aviation Regulations. The flight attendants are to complete CAAP Flight Standards Inspectorate Service (FSIS) Form 542 and submit to Licensing and Certification Department for licensing process.  In accordance with the Director General of CAAP, cabin crew must also have licensure exam since it plays an important role in aviation industry and is part of aviation safety professionals. The aim of the study is to know from the students their insights with regards of mandating licensure exam for flight attendants. The research can be also a reference to students who are inclined to be flight attendants the advantages of taking up the licensure exam.  The researchers also intend to include the effectiveness of licensure exam on professionalizing and uplifting the work of flight attendant. The survey to be conducted will represent as the basis of the response to the problems.
