Team,
InterClean & EnviroTech
I want to take a moment and inform everyone on the recent activities taking place within InterClean. Recently, InterClean decided to merge with one of the major domestic competitors in the corporate market, EnviroTech (Univeristy of Pheonix, 2010). This is an innovative approach into achieving dominance in the sanitation industry. EnviroTech offers InterClean a service expertise that will fit well with our [Use “we,” “us,” or “our” to mean yourself and coauthors, not general humanity (or yourself and the reader)] new strategic plan. After combining the expertise with our resources, we are anticipating on exceeding profitability by 40% by next year. While taking this step into the future, there are a few items I want to address with the team. Even though being a first-level manager requires answering to mid-level and top-level managers, all managers should respect each other and treat he or she as if they are part of the team. Workplaces in this industry have good and bad managers. The good managers represent themselves in a professional manager and are more of a team player rather than a controlling manager. The bad managers represent themselves as possessing authority to control the team due to [Check word usage: This phrase is most accurate in referring to something owed ($5 due) or an arrival time (due at 6:00)–try “because” or “because of”] acquiring a certain title for his or her position within the organization that results into several actions demonstrated through behaviors (Cloniger, 1995). We will witness different attitudes once the staffs of EviroTech and InterClean begin to combine. All employees should work together on putting aside the differences and understanding one another. Another viable item is that managers do not obey the law of employees. All employees will be treated [The passive voice is a form of “be” (will be) and a participle (treated ). Over-use of the passive voice can make paragraphs officious and tedious to read. Try to use the active voice most often; for example, passive voice = The paper was completed on time. Active voice = the student completed the paper on time–See eCampus > Center for Writing Excellence > Tutorials & Guides > Grammar & Writing Guides > Active & passive voice] with respect, equally, and given the same opportunities regardless who or what he or she is. The decision for EnviroTech and InterClean is a big step into the future for everyone and will open doors for us all.

Diverse Working Environment
InterClean will be experiencing changes over the next few months. The merging of [Clearer writing suggestion: remove “the” and “of”] InterClean and EnviroTech will [This phrase appears to be missing a word, either “have,” has,” or “had” (as in “will have”) or “be” (as in “will be”) ] provided a more diverse working environment. This diverse working environment will include different personalities, cultures, religions, and genders. Everyone will need to stay positive and willing to adapt to become successful in the sanction industry (Estlund, 2005). As a mid-level manager, I will do my best to ensure all members of the team believe as if he or she is making a difference in the company. Please be sure to control all behaviors as it is critical to the future of InterClean and EnviroTech. Even my behavior can affect the productivity of the workers in the workplace in many ways (Estlund, 1995). If I demonstrate an unmanaged or destructive behavior, it can turn the best job into a disaster. The unbiased behavior of a manager creates an atmosphere of mistrust and fear, and as a result has a negative impact on productivity and increases operational cost.

Equal Employee Opportunity Act
I remember when I first became a member of the team at InterClean, I was assigned the position as a supervisor. Two managers were overseeing my position within the industry; mid-level and top-level. Because I was only a first-level manager, this required me to report to a mid-level manager who was recently hired [Passive voice] from our competitor, GetClean. This manager was the kind of person who wanted the operations controlled one way and only one way. He was not open to new ideas, strategies and would not take the time to adapt to new employees in the workplace. When the manager would walk into a room with other workers, there always seem to be a sense of awkwardness and silent. No one would speak up at the weekly meetings when he was present; no one would offer ideas or even ask him questions. This resulted into productivity taking
