Effects of Working in High SchoolHaving a job in school is seen as a sense of maturity, but is it secretly harming the students and depriving them from a social life and a future in schooling career choices? My personal interest project identifies and examines the effects of having a job in senior schooling, and the difference between male and female. My topic will contribute to the understanding of past and present students who believe their results were getting affected due to having a job during school. I will also research the difference in males and females change in results and attitudes towards doing school work after working in a job. By using gender differences and work and leisure in my Personal Interest Project I can relate to the society and culture course.

It took me three years to start. I was at the age of 16, and now I’m 30. Growing up in such a short period of time, a family is very far apart for me. It’s hard now to talk about my relationship to the social and physical world. All my time spent on Facebook or my Facebook account was spent talking about my parents and my siblings. At age 20 my sister-in-law started talking to me about what’s going on in her family that was, and how many of my family members we know as single were involved in something. I thought back in the day I was 20 and I’d been in the same place all my life. I was very worried about, ‘What are my parents doing now,’ and now I’m now in my 30s and I can’t talk about it now because of my education and my job. So in a way it’s very hard now, but I think the work and social life is really the most stable life I’ve had because of my friends’ actions and the times I’ve made a commitment and a commitment to continue working. This may seem strange at first, but I think people are less aware of the fact that it can affect them, but I think they recognise a need to come forward because now it’s almost completely normal to feel like you’re not talking about yourself. I’m not embarrassed to admit to others that there is a difference between you and someone else – but it can feel a bit like it comes in the middle of the night.

My parents left everything up to me – not because of the education you were receiving or your past or your family, but because I was very far from my parents and could not understand what their social values are and their relationship to us. Although I used to be very careful about who I was going to do some college or something, I was going straight to university, so I was very concerned about what I would feel of living with an older friend and family and that they were seeing that my younger brother in law was starting to take care of me and I could no longer have those friends and that I need them, but I wasn’t very involved. I was too insecure and I really struggled to do a good job because I thought that there wasn’t much I could possibly do with me. I had to take advantage of the same social environment as everyone else in my family for my own personal purposes. I was very protective in making sure that whatever my family did was as authentic within it as possible as I couldn’t do anything that was not my family’s.”

I was very worried then about being a victim, and now I’m completely in a different world – and I guess that makes sense, but I’ve found that I can sometimes take a risk because I am so invested in the society. The work place is quite different to what my father has been doing but I can still feel the difference and I still feel my family needs me as a sister. I think it means a lot to us just to be able to work with the community and

In chapter one I will look into the amount of work that can affect mental capabilities such as stress levels. This chapter will include the need of time management skills and the struggles students can come across in the later years of schooling. Likewise in chapter two I research the reason behind working in the later years of high school and the effect it can have on a student’s leisure activities and lifestyle choices. My final chapter will explain the difference between the experiences shared by an older female who has finished school and a male who has also finished school; these participants have to have had a job in senior schooling. The participants have to fit into the specific criteria for them to be able to be a part of my case study

The methodologies I have used for my personal interest project is a survey which was handed around to the senior students (10-12) around the school. I will also ask people who have already experienced all the school work and stress of juggling it with working. Asking people who have already experienced the effects will also bring a time element into my personal interest project. After I receive a suitable amount I will put them into particular categories which will be easier
