MY RELIGION
Religion was a small part of my family when I was young. I remember getting dressed in a pretty dress and jelly shoes every Sunday morning. Attending a small Baptist church located in the country on a windy, dirt road was our assumed religion. Sometimes my mother and I would go or my favorite sister would take me. However, when my mother would take me and my sisters, there were instances when my mother would flee from the church to the van, for what reason, then I did not know. Of course, I would run only to find her to be in the van with tears streaming down her cheeks and smoking a cigarette. I never understood the meaning until I grew older and learned of the unrighteous things she had done in the past. The preacherā€™s sermon would attack her conscience terribly. I believe my mom wanted her kids to know about the Creator and endured the ā€˜mental painā€™ to complete the task. Soon enough when I turned twelve, things changed and we did not attend church that regularly and eventually leading to not at all.

In middle school, I made a friend, Kelly, who attended church every Sunday. My mom did not frown upon me being with her so I would spend some Saturday nights with Kelly and wake up to attend church with her. It was great fun because there was a band and they made it lively.
