Fast Food
Eating is among enjoyable human activities that take place on a daily basis. Thus, it is not surprising that there is a variety of foods from which to choose. One of the categories of the most popular foods is fast food. This type of food is prepared and served quickly. Despite the widespread consumption of fast food, contentions remain regarding the benefits and shortcomings of consuming fast food. It is noted that irrespective of the view that one holds, fast food consumption has both pros and cons. One of the advantages of consuming the food is related to time saving (Schlosser, 2001). In practice, fast foods such as pizza and hamburger require short time to order. Besides, in the present times, fast food outlets are easily found. Hence, it does not matter the time or point at which one is hungry since it is easy to access fast food joints for food. Taste is also an influential factor when selecting food. Fast foods have a nicer taste than conventional foods. For example, fried chicken, spaghetti and snacks have a special flavor which is addictive to consumers. However, it is necessary to exercise caution when taking such foods because additives or ingredients such as sodium and Monosodium glutamate alter their tastes. It is argued that although fast food consumption has benefits and drawbacks, it elicits drug-related consequences such as addiction which leads to dependence among vulnerable populations.

Arguments For and Against Consuming Fast Food
Nowadays, working demands have increased as individuals find themselves under constant pressure to meet deadlines (Talwar, 2003). Hence, the amount of time available to carry out each activity is limited. Therefore, finding avenues to limit one’s engagements is a welcome idea. One of the ways to limit physical engagements is to void preparing one’s food. Furthermore, avoiding preparing such foods might not be enough. Consequently frequenting fast food joints when one is having a break is a major way to maintain working at the normal pace. Hence, fast food is critical in maintaining one’s working pace without compromising his/ her eating habits or needs. It is also noted that after a busy day at work, few people have the energy to prepare food. In this regard, fast food becomes handy since it is ready and easily accessible. The food is preferred since it allows busy people enough time to relax so that they can carry on their routine work without much pressure.

Apart from the issue of time, cost is an important consideration when preparing food. Examining the costs associated with preparing a meal is helpful in advancing the case for fast food. In the current times, the number of people living alone has increased (Talwar, 2003). For those individuals who stay single, it is easier for them to buy than to prepare a meal. It is also noted that some fast foods such as burgers or fries are cheaper to buy
