This issue is having celebrities above the law. Seventy percent of people in the U.S. believe that celebrites shouldnt be above the law. In this essay I will be discussing how celebrities arent above the law, how the preamble of the Constitution states that all should be treated equal) and how different standards shouldnt be set for people with status.

Many celebrities get away with bending the law such as Daryl Strawberry a famous baseball player who was accused of drug possessionwho received10-15 chances as a normal person would have gotten 3 strikes. Kobe Bryant a famous basketball player rapped a woman under age and paidher to drop the case. Ray Charles a famous singer was charged with drug possessionmore than one , twice, or even three times and every time he was charged with drug possessionthe studio bought him out of trouble. O.J Simpson a recent football player was charged with murder of his ex wife. Michael Jackson a famous singer was charged with molestation in the late 1980s, the 1990s, 2003, and 2004. Richard Pryor a comedian was charged with possession

Daryl Strawberry a Hollywood actor was charged with drug related charges. David Acheson a celebrity was charged with indecent exposure. David Bowie a renowned film/video star was charged with molestation in 2007. Steven Spielberg a famous movie star was released from the hospital in April 2009 after a brief medical scare and he had to perform in court to appear on stage.  

Amy Adams got arrested in the movie “Aliens” and she was held in a cell for five hours.

Kevin Nash was convicted of cocaine and marijuana possession and sentenced to five years.

Amy Winehouse was accused of selling marijuana.

Cheryl Samuelson was the head of the Daughters of the Prophet in Iraq and she was sentenced to 11 years.

Nephew Josephine was convicted of being an alcoholic and sentenced to 12 years.

Bill Bailey was charged with first degree murder in a car accident and was placed on a life probationary period.

The Constitution has many powerful words and is a document for the U.S. The preamble of the Constitution is a passage located in this document that says, We the people of the United States in order to form a more a perfect unioun establish ensure domestic tranquility provide for the common deference promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our postarity to ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.’’
