Non-verbal communication
When you see people smile you think they may happy. When you see two people shaking their hands you guess they may express their friendship. Sometimes people do these things without say any words but people also can understand the meanings. Nonverbal communication also is a way for people to communicate with others. In Hargrave’s (2008) describes that “Dr. Albert Mehrabian, a noted researcher in the field of nonverbal communication, found that the total impact of message is about 7 percent verbal (words only), 38 percent vocal (including tone of voice, inflection, and other sounds), and a mammoth 55 percent nonverbal”(p.17). Nonverbal communication becomes very important in human’s communication. It is including many aspects such as facial expression, eye contact and hand gesture.

Facial expression is a kind of nonverbal communication. People have various facial expressions. Facial expressions help people show their emotions or feelings. People also can use facial expression to communicate with others Back and Jordan (2014) believe “The human face is an abundant source of visual information about a person’s emotions, thoughts, and intentions, and the ability of observers to recognize this information is an invaluable skill for effective social communication”(p.1). Many people have seen the animation Tom and Jerry. Do you remember when Tom sees the dog Spike? Sometimes in the animation the cat sees the dog; the cat’s eyes bulge from the orbital and become very big. Its mouth opened very large and almost drooped to the ground. know the information that the cat is afraid of the dog. In the animation Tom’s facial expression tells the dog: “please stay away from me; I dont want to see you.” The cat’s facial expression also tells the audiences that the cat may meet some trouble. This also shows well on little baby. According to the research by Klinnert and others in 1983 (as cited in Blair, 2003), in their study they discovered that the little babies’ reactions to an unfamiliar thing are depend on their parents’ expressions. For example, the little baby will judge whether the unfamiliar thing is a good or bad thing through the facial expression of their mother. (p. 562). Sometimes babies cannot clearly express
