The University of Manitoba is an institution that has produced a comprehensive and in depth study of the orchestra for the past 30 years. According to the University of Manitoba, a unique “class of music” has a rich history during which to learn the latest music from every band and orchestra the province has released prior to 1956; the “class of music” in this study was the “MBA” music which was a product of over two dozen new instruments, such as piano, keyboards, bass, and drums created by the University of Michigan for the U of M. The MBA music is used by the B.F.A., the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, as well as the United Service Employees of Canada. This is the second report to be released by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Each report was developed to identify the key features, trends, and trends of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra since the beginning of 2007 to present the latest music available for the VSO. The majority of the data was from the January to November 2006 sales. The report also focused extensively on the VSO from 2001 until its mid-2007 sales. It also included information on each VSO’s current tour in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 (in addition to other statistics). In addition to the survey, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra provided the following updates concerning the status of their tour and information related to specific concerts and shows: During the 2006-07 tour, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra was one of the only major professional bands to report a record sales and gain after they returned to tour. During the 2007-08 tour, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra was one of just five major professional band to report a record gain after spending a year in the touring industry over a six-year period. In addition, in 2006, there were over 15,000 concerts available to pay for tickets. During 2007, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra was one of only two professional band to report a record gain after spending a year in the tour industry over a six-year period. The VSO’s focus is to enhance their own educational capabilities by creating the largest student and faculty body in the province. Each year, we survey the University of Manitoba students to make sure they are prepared for the future and not just wait for their first semester to be complete. The recommendation from the Executive Committee was to not use the survey. They would start over and utilize the probability method. There would be a random sample of 1,000 individuals from the subscribers and non-subscribers. In order to get individuals to return the survey the individuals who would return the survey will receive two free ticket to Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Should a probability sample the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra would have to have a representative sample and then determine the biases. The new survey would ask what type of music does the respondents want to hear, but is not offered.
