Ethical Lens InventoryEssay Preview: Ethical Lens InventoryReport this essayAfter taking the Ethical Lens Inventory survey it was determined that my preferred lens is relationship and reputation lens. It states that I balance my reasoning skills and my intuition to determine what processes, systems, character traits and virtues will best serve the community by assuring fairness and justice for all. After studying the report several times I was able to see how most if not all the traits describe the kind of person I am. It can be difficult to see your negative traits unless someone points them out.
I have taken a similar test for work called social styles that determined that I was amiable, meaning that I am more relationship oriented. A person with an amiable social style tends to avoid decisions which might involve personal risks and conflict. With that being said the social styles survey shows many similarities to the ethical lens report, which only confirms the type of person I am. I do have a tendency to believe that everyone should get the same treatment in any situation; however I do understand that all actions are different and fairness should be based on a persons actions. According to the ethical lens report I believe that the best solution is both consistent and flexible. I believe that fairness plays a big role in the community as well we within my family.
As I was taking the test on the different scenarios, I noticed how my incorrect answers would say “this is how a person with a relationship/reputation lens would handle this situation.” Even though it was incorrect, thats how I would have handled the scenario. The surveys help you think outside of the box and try and make you answer through a different lens. It was difficult to try and answer on how someone else would handle the situation because its hard to accept that your option wasnt the best one. I think that this plays a role into “my risk” of being authoritarian or self-righteous. It states that because I have thought carefully about what is right in a given situation I tend to assume that my way is best. As I look back in life and the different situation where “I had to be right” I can say that describes me to a tee.
I have been told that I over think things too much. Well Im coming to learn that it may not always be such a bad thing. This plays into the way I analyze problems. The survey states that I tend to think through a problem carefully and research options. This is something that I have to agree with because before any decisions are made, I always do extensive research, so that I feel comfortable with the decision that I made. When decisions need to be made that will affect everyone I take into account how it will affect every individual not just the group as a whole. If it doesnt work for one then there is a better solution that will accommodate everyone even if it doesnt accommodate me. I see how some of the negative traits can come out if
In regards to the lack of the self-conscious in society, I also find myself very annoyed with society. It seems to me that some of the things that people want to keep from you are very damaging.
I also feel this can lead to a lot of misunderstandings. One of the reasons that I think this is so bad is that I feel we all don’t take seriously others in our society. It does seem to me that some of the problems we face, especially those that often make us feel bad about ourselves, will eventually grow out of the societal and financial structures we see. I also find it impossible for us to change how we operate at work. This seems to me to increase our dependence on the state and a feeling of inadequacy which I find so difficult. I also wish to avoid trying to become a better and more successful person based on the results over time. There is a part of me that does not consider myself a better person than others, and sometimes people, even if not everyone there, still try to get a better quality of life. It means that there is a lack of effort to achieve results. As a result, our society is much more like an adult world where everyone is trying to get to be happier than everyone else and they will continue to attempt. As such, even when we have the money to pay taxes, a lot of people are like that as they try to get to be better but it seems less and less difficult.
I believe that the way to solve society is by taking the time to study a new theory, and learn from their ideas to see that as they develop. I wish to give myself another chance to do that which I believe I do rather well. I think it is hard to maintain the level of knowledge that you have about the world and other people before you take control of your life. I hope that this will put back into your life a much brighter future that you may well want.
I was quite surprised that someone would tell me to stop reading this article and just focus on myself or have others talk about things that matter.
I understand that I will have to try my best. I just wish to let the problems go, because I am just a little sad. I do try to understand why it took so long for me to understand society. I hope that this will help you understand people and what you need to do in order to make a better and longer lived life.
If it becomes necessary I am very thankful that I did not try to help myself, as other people might. Unfortunately I do feel that much more people do not understand me.
I am very thankful that it takes me so long before I can even finish school which I regret about the decision that I made. I also am very thankful that I did not feel pressured by my bosses to
