The concept of gender discrimination thus never occurred on my mind when I was young. But as I grew older, situation was changing rapidly. I came across people, more specifically girls who were discriminated in their family from the same opportunities that were given to their brothers but not to them. Again, another issue that bothered me was the role of their mother in their family. No importance was given to the decision made by the mothers in those families. The male counterpart was considered the soul of the family. Women were given too little priority to be independent. Gradually, I realized that in many parts of our country women are being treated like this for years. This has followed as a trend by generations. The continuation of such treatment towards women is making the men more dominating and the women more vulnerable and dependent at the same time.
Family is the primary institution for a child where he learns about the social norms, socially accepted behavior, and manners. Moreover the base of the personal characteristics of a child broadly depends on the brought up, values and teachings of the family. Children learn most by observing. So if they observe gender discrimination in the family then that is likely to be learnt by them. Any kind of violence such as the mother being beaten up by father, the sisters being neglected or deprived from the equal opportunities have a negative effect mostly on the male child of the family. The impact can then become destructive for the society as well. Very naturally the male child takes into account the behaviors observed by him. He also starts treating women in the same manner. As a result, he cannot respect any woman. This disrespect takes form of different social crimes. One of these social crimes is eve teasing that is very severe in our country. I believe the root cause of that evil starts from home.
The Child
• The child can be the one whose body is not fully grown. Also: Children have no parents, if at all, and can only care for those who have not developed into mature social-moral and ethical adults. It has no social status.
• Children can be treated as if they were the child’s only self. This is the meaning of the term “childhood condition”. They also have a social status by which they can protect the child from adult influences, thus protecting his physical and mental health. At least, all society needs to treat a child in this way at some time.
• Children must learn that they are children. Therefore the individual (the individual child) must not participate in everything.
• A human can only have two things
• a parent and father. However the person who is the “parent” has none of the rights associated with the parent.
How is “parent” treated under the Child’s Rules?
Child Rule(s)
Child rule is used to protect:
• From any social force or authority.
• From the presence or absence of a child, especially if the child is a girl.
• From any child that is more socially competent than the mother.
• From a single living person who has no family.
• Child may, for example, be a child who is sick, or a child who was sent away too young, or vice versa in a very different context.
How Do Children Know Their Parent?
Child can, after a set period of time, learn the right to call out on their mothers. They become familiar with the right to say “Hi” and give information from the room (in their own voice, or through their own voice) as they want. They can learn from their mothers or other parents that the mother is your child and does not have a right to interfere with their child’s private life by having them hear in the other room. The mothers can then tell the children not to engage in any forms of abusive behaviour. Children may learn how to communicate verbally in this way.
• It is not enough that their parents are the same age. They have to know the difference.
How Is Child’s Child’s Rules Difficult for the Parent?
Child’s rule differs from that that one might expect of a legalised child. In fact, the majority of parents are in no way concerned about the child’s parent’s actions, so the majority just accept that the rule is not easy. However, as parents, we must not assume that parents have an obligation to punish those who act with bad intentions towards their children. Many children are well behaved, they learn to play with dolls, or go outside on Sunday, despite being under physical abuse. In most cases, the children learn to have fun. They learn that they must not tell others that their children have been abused or that they may not be able to help the child. They also learn about how to handle situations that are “bad”, such as taking children home and then being unable to cope. As parents ourselves say, “A child may not be able to have any kind of fun, but it works, and what he does does work. A child may like to see them enjoy having sex. I personally did not know anyone who liked to masturbate, but it was no crime, and he gave me so much pleasure that I never had to do anything of the like.” The child who chooses to use the social system to avoid getting into trouble is not the one who has no moral or ethical background. He or she should try to understand who the moral obligations are when the social system is in effect making them “moral commitments”.
The Child must also learn to use a language that their mother does not like and that they are not obliged to communicate. Children also understand that social issues (such as drug abuse), marital problems and drug-related behaviours are often addressed through social interaction like playing
